Targeted website traffic is the only kind of traffic which will make your blog financially successful. It’s the traffic you need to grow your business because it includes the people who most like to buy from or through you.
Targeted Website Traffic Helps You
Long gone are the days when you could make money just based on the number of people who visit your site.
Today, whether you display advertisements or you promote affiliate products or you sell products of your own, you need visitors who are willing to pay someone for something they saw on your site.
Even trying to increase Adsense earnings or other web advertising traffic requires the right strategies. Websmasters forget that and most think that getting any old traffic will do. No this is not true because if your traffic is merely junk then the advertisers will notice this and avoid your website.
The vast majority of traffic to any given website goes there with no intention of buying anything, and so the vast majority of websites gain nothing from the useful information or entertainment they provide. If you want your website to be successful, you have to be the exception to the rule—you have to create a website which attracts targeted website traffic willing to buy from you or your affiliated websites.
How To Find Targeted Website Traffic
Two things must be determined up front: how you most effectively sell and where to find buyers.
How you sell depends on your site’s business model. There are three common models in use on the Internet:
1.  Advertisements: you display advertisements for other people’s products. Every time a visitor clicks an advertisement on your site, you get a small fee.
2.  Affiliate commissions or sales: in your posts, videos, and other content, you link to products—your products or someone else’s products. When someone buys a product from one of those affiliate sites, you receive either an affiliate commission or the direct profit from the sale. ClickBank and JVZoo are two of the most popular and I think JVZoo is probably the best affiliate program around.
3.  List building: instead of selling to people through your website, you get them on your mailing list (or social media account) and then use regular communication to sell to them repeatedly.
There are many more ways to get targeted traffic to your website. Please add your favourite methods in the comment section below.
How To Find Your Targeted Website Traffic
Your strategy for finding targeted website traffic stays mostly the same regardless of which selling method you use. The only difference is the goal you set for yourself. Advertisers and affiliate programs need to track ad clicks; sales sites need to track sales; mailing list sites need to track subscriptions.
To find your targeted website traffic, look for topics related to your best-paying advertisements, top-selling products, or mailing list topics and then see if those topics convert.
The quickest way I know to test topic conversion is using advertisements. Set up a new advertisement campaign which targets a bunch of different keywords. Then activate each keyword for 100 clicks and see how many of those clicks turn into ad clicks, buyers, or subscribers on your site. I am not saying that you should buy website targeted traffic as this would cost too much, I am saying to use this as a test.
Some of the keywords you target will perform well; some of them will not. Obviously, the keywords which perform well are the ones that end up attracting the kind of targeted website traffic you need more of.
Now that you know which keywords attract the traffic you want, you can write articles and produce videos which will work continuously to draw the best performing, high-quality traffic to your website.
The problem is that many webmasters do not test anything and fly by the seat of their pants. What do you think about targeted website traffic?
It is very likely to Get Traffic from such Websites/Blogs because their Audience,Niche and Articles are very Choosy and Top in their Categories so it is very likely to Find a Good Crowd Over there.
It was WonderFul Tip BTW
Thanks
What u think is the best way to get target traffic? SEO or advertisement?
IMHO, SEO is the best for getting targeted traffic because the people who are badly searching for information want to know in detail, and when they find your blog through search engine they could be your returning visitor.
In the other hand, there’s quite low potential of benefit if you go with paid ads unless your’re advertising your product or service. Also, people who’s referred through ads are not necessarily might be interested in your blog topic. It might work well if you know some good advertising tactics though.
Selling has been even harder these days. I was reading Jon Rhodes’ post recently on bloggingwizard and he has rightly discussed the changed scenario or SEO and the need to turn to social networks.
It’s been harder and needs to find newer way for the targeted traffic and the traffic that really converts. Thanks Mitz for some methods you’ve mentioned here.
I actually thought that selling was getting easier because the good sites are winning the race today? 🙂
I must thank you Mitz.
Getting massive visitors is quite nice but again it becomes pointless if they only browse for a moment and leave without buying anything. I love the points you just highlighted.
A perfect post. I think guest blogging on niche related websites or blogs can also help to drive targetted traffic. But then above all, advertisement is the perfect method.
Yes advertising is a simple way to sort out your keywords. Then if you can optimize for the buying keywords you will know that sales will come in. 🙂
You , are really give me a very simple method to increase the traffic . I have started a blogging site about education but i am not able to increase its rank fastly . Your post give me a confident that i also increase my rank through your suggestions .
Thank you so much .
The best way to get targeted traffic is to write great long epic content that attracts links and make people recommend it to their readers.
This is the best simple answer I believe in.
Yes that is one way but I do like to go out and push things along too! Why wait for them to come or link to you when you can get it now? 🙂
What I mean is that you care most about getting traffic not creating more content.
80% time promoting and 20% creating content.
That’s it.
Yes that sounds good! That is why blogging for a living is not easy. It is hard work. 🙂
Getting engage with other bloggers and guest post its an trending strategy which can drive traffic for your blog.
Yes it seems like everyone is doing this…but many bloggers do this without a goal in mind?? So they get traffic but for what? 🙂
i do agree with you Mitz they need to know the importance first else its totally waste of time
Guest blogging in your exact niche is one of the greatest ways to get targeted traffic. In our niche, real estate investing, we’ve used other peoples traffic to quadruple our personal traffic. Seems like you guys do that here as well. Very cool. It works in any niche I am convinced.
very nice article thanks for sharing i’ve added Bbt to my list of best blogs that accept guest post hope you gonna share it !
Hey !
Great article. I actually enjoyed the whole article. The concept of guest blogging is awesome indeed.
Thanks.
Matt
Actually if we pay more attention to select appropriate keywords and try to look for topics related best-paying advertisements, mailing list topics then easily we can generate huge targeted traffic on your website.
Also the point you have suggested here as a beta test of advertisement campaign that would be a great experiment I believe. Really I agree with your every word on this post:)
Great tips. I’m a big fan of guest blogging because I’m able to find readers in my niche. It’s particularly hard for a humor blogger, such as myself. I haven’t had any luck with affiliate advertising, probably for the same reasons.
I think to get targeted traffic, we must balance between the content and the way we get traffic. For example, your content must be what buyers are looking for and the ad says exact the same thing. I have seen some people trying to get more buying traffic by using eye-catching banners with fake claims.
Of course they generated many clicks and visits, but those are not targeted since their content says a totally different things or not as good as the banner 🙂
Targeted traffic is the best traffic, once it kicks in. That’s not to say anyone should never advertise. Just that it’s all got to be done in perfect balance.
Nice article! Just traffic is not enough for making money online today. What we need is targeted traffic. I believe, quality content, sticking with the niche and building an authority and seo optimized posts can do a lot in bringing targeted traffic.
Mitz, Yes targeted traffic is key to success online. I had learned this on a retail site I do with using Stumble Upon. I would get lots of traffic but it was not targeted and caused a high bounce rate. Not good. I would also agree with comment above that it is harder to sell these days as people have SO many choices online and at brick and mortar. You really need a unique product or product line to have high success. I love using long-tail keywords too, they are much more targeted.
Yes I am not a fan of Stumble upon traffic. It simply does not work for me. 🙂 I like seeing the rush of traffic but when it does nothing it is disappointing.
I am not sure about things getting harder online.. I thought the way of the world was turning to online and we are just lucky enough to be in business at the right time.. We are paving the way for the future! There are so many more opportunities to come and most of us bloggers will know how to use them to our advantage. 🙂
targeted traffic works great comparing to referral traffic . The adsense cpc are always high when the traffic is target. But you have to work harder on SEO to get the targeted traffic. Thanks for those tips
Yes it is hard work to get the good traffic but money does not come easy sometimes. 🙂
My personal favorite free method of generating traffic to all of my sites (more than 150) requires the use of article marketing. This technique works best by writing and submitting articles to the most popular web directories such as EzineArticles.com and Goarticles.com. The key to using this method for maximum efficiency is to build a quality article with a killer title and a resource (authors) box that forces the reader to link to your web site. Believe me when I tell you that this method alone can exponential growth of traffic to your site.
I agree with you totally and it makes me angry when people say this does not work… You publish an article and it gets reposted on other sites…There is loads of traffic from this and there are no penalties! It is crazy what people believe even without any real proof. 🙂
Partnerships usually work well. Of course, it depends on the niche and the type of website.
Paid ads are good too. If your site converts well, they are the best thing.
Yes you are right about the paid ads. That definitely works if you have a site that is going to do its job and get the visitor to complete your goal.
Nice key points you have covered up here, got great info, Thanks for the information…!
Great article! Though keywords may play a key role in gaining traffic and your site’s stability on the search engines, it’s also good to have your social media visibility to gain real time traffic and possible conversion if I may add. Also, continuously giving your potential target market the correct information they need will help your potential niche market lead themselves to your site essentials and later then convert to sales.
Hi Mitz… was just on your letbuildwebsites blog earlier today! 🙂 As I mentioned there, we are currently experimenting with non-related products since the cartoon related merchandise didn’t generate too much revenue… I would be curious to know your thoughts as to what kind of products would sell well for a political news site… we’ve tried the usual ads/ affiliate programs normally found on news sites (e.g. offline newspaper/ magazine subscriptions, insurance etc) but the take up wasn’t all that great… any ideas we could test out would be most welcome!
The first thing I would do with your site is to get a simple design..It is too distracting. Probably a news theme if that is what it is about. I would keep the cartoons as a weekly cartoon strip..
Then I would remove everything and only have the content on the blog. Then slowly add some banners to test. Possibly adsense in a few hot spots.. After all you are having trouble finding what to sell and Adsense will help you find something..
See the hot spot image map in this article.
When you see a page that does well with Adsense, look for a product to sell that is directly related to the content on that page…not the site.. remove adsense and place your new test.
Yes, targeted traffic is money not traffic.
Best and easiest way I think is Guest posting, and one has to try different ways to get it.
Shouldn`t rely only on 1 thing. Like Ileane need to try podcast, YT videos.

In my opinion, getting super clear about our goals in the first place will help tailor our strategies (content, design, promotion etc.) to get targeted visitors. The key is to get clarity. I got mine when I forced myself to identify and write down my USP 🙂
Yes this is a great way to make sure your customers are happy when they get to your blog.. Also sticking to the right content helps get the right people. Your blog looks very well thought out. There are products for sale and signup forms everywhere! 🙂
Nice post ! I never realized all the benefits of targeted traffic. I use Twitter to get a lot of targeted traffic to my blog and that works well 🙂
Thanks for the info
It will really help me to grow my site.
For any new website you need to bring targeted traffic so that people will start recognizing you. Once you start getting good amount of visitors, then you can monetize them.
There is no denying the importance of targeted traffic for your website. You can have traffic and you have quality traffic which will convert into buyers. I like the idea of using JVZoo. This is the first time I am hearing about it. I might use this for my ebook. Thanks for mentioning it.
Mitz, I also found that split testing across a variety of landing pages (for the same product) is also a helpful means of determining which ads and keywords to use. Especially useful if your blog is focused on one particular niche and has visitors looking for information in that area.
Yes I like split testing but I wish I had more time to do it.. !!! 🙂
Hi Mitz,
I love your post. I particularly targeted traffic by paid advertisement. At least you get what you paid for. SEO on the other hand doesn’t really work for some of us. I believe all us can not get rank on 1st page of Google at the same time. So why waiting for SEO when you can get the traffic at your door step.
Some people are just not good at PPC and the same with SEO. I would prefer SEO because it costs less but I do enjoy PPC as it is like gambling and winning! 🙂
I think that organic traffic from you main keywords is the best kind of traffic you can get.
You need to think as a potential customer/buyer by doing this you will be able to provide the right content, it really need to be helpful if you really want to generate any income.
This of course is only possible if you make a proper keyword research, as you said many webmaster ignore this in the race of getting traffic (any kind of traffic).
Every website nowadays haves a very specific niche, its only natural to look for visits for that specific niche alone, everything else is just pretty much useless.
Great guide! I agree that targeted traffic has a great benefit not only on the website traffic but also in search rankings. Thank you for sharing us the value of targeted traffic and at the same time you provided some sources where to find one.
I think that it’s hard to get traffic to the blog. But if you choose a micro niche that is not yet been targeted then you can bring in a lot of search engine traffic from Google. This will give you lot of earning if you content lock or use right ad system
hello mitz
nice tips. we should try to get TARGETED TRAFFIC or CUSTOMERS not some random visitor, who does nothing. having few targeted visitor is much better than having1000’s un targeted visitors
yes thats all we need! 🙂 Thousands of non targeted traffic is just a waste of time!
What you are saying is absolutely correct. In fact, we can earn a huge amount of money blogging if just decide to be focused. Today, most bloggers focus on getting traffic and social proof instead of creating targeted content. If we just follow the simple plan, it will be a lot more easier to get successful as a blogger.
Thanks for sharing a real good content!
Hi Mitz , awesome guide about targeted traffic. I am also putting all my efforts in this traffic platform . I am using emails signatures , article marketing and first 200 words of my blog content to achieve this kind of traffic. This sort of traffic is hard to get but once you acquire it , all SEO efforts works in a fast and furious way .
Thanks Mitz for a much needed article.
I really liked your thoughts about targeting topics related to keywords that have high advertisements. However I am a bit confused that how we will topics related to best paying advertisement in our niche?
Should we look at adsense ads (in the top blogs of our niche)? or the general ads on top blog? or keywords which has searches? which one would be the best method?
I would really like if Mam Ileane smith also answer to this query, your thoughts will really help me to attract targeted traffic to my blog.
Thanks a lot
website traffic is very powerful for blog more traffic more money very good tips thanks for sharing..
Thanks mitz .. nice tips.
I think that organic traffic from you main keywords is the best kind of traffic you can get.
I used Social media for my site to get more traffic, it seems effective though but doing it manually would be more effective that using some software to do the job… great post I have now got an idea on how to get more traffic for my site.
This is such an important point to make. Going after any old traffic is almost as useless as not having any traffic at all and so if you are not targeting the right kind of people you may as well close your site down now.
Organic traffic is more targeted according to me. Social Media comes next to Search Engine.
Having targeted traffic is very important because those people are the ones who would turn out to be loyal readers.
Thanks for the wounderful tips, its helped me lot to be a success blogger..
#3 is definitely my favorite Mitz! If people don’t do anything else online, be sure to build your list.
There is nothing more powerful then having traffic on demand. Also the relationship with your readers becomes that much more powerful
Target several keywords – you mean write several posts for each keyword?
Are talking about PPC or SEO?
I am thinking of starting some sort of PPC but I am afraid to spend too much money.
To be honest I’ve never really had much success with adwords and such. Especially for the amount of time and effort I’ve put in. You do have some great points in your post though, maybe I should make a renewed effort!! 🙂
I have realized that the only people who make us revenue are targeted traffic. However I’m currently working on some SEO for my website, hoping it would bring a lot of targeted traffic. Paid advertising is not an option for most of non-professional bloggers like me, since it costs a lot.
If we are in affiliate marketing business then targeted traffic is really important for our online business. It will increase our affiliate sale and commissions.
Hi Mitz, targeted traffic is the hardest thing to get and that is the most valuable that give the power. I wasn’t really know much about the power of targeted traffic and I was fully focus on getting new visitors. However, the result wasn’t bad at all but I were fully focusing on getting targeted traffic. The power now is even bigger and one of the best ways of getting targeted traffic like you mentioned is building an email list.
Thanks – Ferb
The whole idea of getting traffic on your site is to make relevant people visit the site. Things like paying ads on site with traffic already is the easy way of things but building quality links to similar site with traffic is even better with guest posting. Leaving an author bio and a link to social network is the best way to attract visitors.
Keep up the good work I like your article.
If you can attract visitors which are targeted then you have done 80% of seo successfully
Hello,
Thanks for such an informative article. Most of the bloggers these days focus on money first, and then content, and thus lose out on traffic in the long run.
hy thanks Mitz for such great content, actually by the use of high cpc keywords and with handsome seo you will get more organic traffic towards your niche blog.
In simple words 10 targeted visitors is much better than 100 untargeted ones. Because it’ll increase your sales and decrease your refunds.
Targeted traffic is the best traffic. Thanks for giving such an imformative post.
Keep sharing
Nice post ! I never realized all the benefits of targeted traffic. I use Facebook to get a lot of targeted traffic to my blog and that works well 🙂
Thanks for the info
Targeted traffic is always good as it helps you to make some profit.I targeted social media sites which helps me in earning some money and also to make some good customers.
Thanks.
Hi Mitz
Excellent article. It helped me to get clear knowledge about the traffic and Adsense earnings. And i red your latest two posts. Both was very nice and that gave the information about Making Money from One Simple Content Marketing Strategy and SEOpressor V5 Review
the best part of the targeted traffic is site excel into the ranks too quickly with minimum effect of google algorithms
Targeted traffic = better conversions.
Also list building is one of the best ways to monetize too because that list will be highly targeted because they actually took the time to sign up = they are interested.
target traffic will lead you towards better organic searches will in turn convert into good business and the main benefit of targeted traffic is it got less effected by google algorithms
if the SEO techies want to nail google algorithms targeted traffic towards the website is the best way to excel on serps…Thanks for sharing a important stuff with us
