You might call your blog a website, or your WordPress website a blog, but we all have something in common, we all want to stand out in a crowd.
To create a successful WordPress website, the main objective is to stand out in the crowd amongst the millions of other competing websites around you.
When you are competing for a similar keyword the Internet world becomes the whole lot smaller. So in this article I am going to mention a few things you can do to make your WordPress website stand out in a crowd!
Express Your Opinion
This is easy for me as I love to express my opinion about absolutely everything! I am not a follower and do not follow along with other people’s opinions. New Webmasters often look at other successful Webmasters and presume that they must copy them step by step. This could not be further from the truth, as people notice that you are not actually being your own person.
Talk about the Forbidden
When you are building a WordPress website or blog, you are in charge of the topics on that website. People often shy away from publishing anything controversial that might attract negative feedback. But little do they know, publishing posts that other Webmasters will not only shows that you are an open person. It also shows that you are open to listen to other people’s opinions as well, as the negative or positive feedback will come in from these kinds of posts.
I personally have published a few posts that were controversial and I do often mention little digs in my actual articles. One of my articles that caused controversy was when I asked my readers if they really want to be on my list, as I was fed up with the whole situation of list building. Another post I should mention was titled “Why I will not show income reports” and this could have offended some of my friends who do show their income reports.
Challenge the Big Boys
The big boys in the Internet blogging world are just ordinary people who started out like you and me. They are not gurus that need to be worshiped or agreed with all the time. These guys are just human beings like you and me and they are not perfect and not always right. This is probably where your own opinion comes in again, as worshiping people and following too much will always hold you back from being a leader.
Disagreeing with the blogging gurus just shows your own opinion which makes you unique. People will respect you for that.
Think Outside the Box
Rack your brains for ideas on something really different that you can do on your blog or website. This is really important so you should take the time to think of something that others are not doing. I have seen some really great ideas from bloggers and sometimes it is just as simple as offering a really different free report. It just gets so boring when you go to all these different websites and they are all the same. You need to stand out in the crowd and do something different. Many people fail at blogging because they do not think outside the box of blogging.
Create Your Own Graphics for a WordPress Website
I love taking screenshots and creating my own graphics through Photoshop. It is amazing what happens when you make your own graphics. This allows you to upload this picture to other websites and link back to your own website. So the picture looks great on your article but is also doing its own job by promoting your post. If you don't know how to create your own graphics you can easily get some made for you on sites like Fiverr.com or Elance.com.
You can pin your images in Pinterest, upload them to Facebook, Flickr, and so much more. Images are also great for SEO if you include an alt tag for your image.
Specialize in a Tighter Niche
Refine your subject and become an expert about one thing. Of course you could be great at many things but you should only ever offer a few areas of expert advice. This way, people will know where to go for the best advice about a particular topic.
If you do specialize in your niche, you will see a more targeted audience following you. Obviously this will make your website or blog stand out in a crowd. Just don't pick a subject that no one is interested in!
So Lets Stand OUT!
It is not easy to stand out in the crowd when there are 200 million or more blogs in 2012 and counting. But what we all can do is simply be ourselves and not try to be someone we are not. If you show your true colors you will surely stand out in the crowd as we are all unique individuals and others will just find you interesting for who you are!

creating own Graphics is very great idea because now all visitors want something new and creative so something new graphics attract visitors to our site & nice tips to build successful site.
Yes creating your own graphics can be huge for traffic too! Just upload them to the right site and bobs your uncle!

Excellent post and very interesting points you have shared in this and I am really amazed with few points to not show their income on their blogs and I feel its up to the person who is blogging and for me its very crucial not to show the income flow but you can show the testimonials to great effect.
Secondly, to stand out for me the focus should be to create quality content which should resolve your readers issue.

You also said ” create your own graphics “, and I believe that you should do it always. I am trying it, and trust me or not..according to aherfs 20% and more sites are linking to me because of those images. The graphics creation process takes few minutes, but then its just like long term investment..since you are building so many natural backlinks.

I really like the idea of using your own images, I’ve been taking more photos and putting them to use – gives ideas too for more blog posts. I would also agree with Ryan that blogging from the heart is important!
From what I’ve observed, and my own experiments with various blogs, providing people with something that no one else is usually works. In other words, try finding a sub-niche that is big enough, but relatively unexplored by bloggers.
Provide your readers with easy access to quality information!

Wow. What really picked me up is the pic you used. The pic alone highlight the whole idea- Stand out unique. Blogging has become a competition with more and more new blogs coming up on each day and hence, the competition is tough. The only way is to make our blog different from others to get fruitful results. Helping others is also a good tip for buliding a followup

This seems to be what so many bloggers are scared to do. Why are people self censoring?
It doesn’t add any value to keep repeating the same talking points over and over again. Blog tips, politics, sports takes, its all the same.
The truth is people want to hear what you have to say and NO you can’t make everyone happy so you may as well not try.

The number one way to stand out is with big eye catching graphics. If people don’t like the way your site looks, they’ll never bother to read any of your content. We all judge books by their covers.
Those past days , i’ve changed my wordpress theme and spend too many hours trying to make a nice header. Next time , i ll try Fiverr.com or Elance.com as you mentioned. Save time and sure the graphic will look more pro.

The biggest problem I have always had online is the ability to create decent graphics, I suck at it and have to rely on my, brother to create them for me when he has free time. 🙂

I have always been a strong supporter of differentiation. From my own experience I can say that this is the best way to create a strong brand and to make more and more visitors to become loyal to our blogs. If we create something unique that cannot be found elsewhere I think we could become successful bloggers on the long run.

I like the challenging part of the article. In order to get attention and be seen, get a hold of those big boys!
Well, it is a really good alternative. But I would still try it till switchin’ to it permanently. It is new and as you know everything new can be a bit awkward in some moments.

Standing out in the Crowd is not what I do best as a blogger. I don’t find it very easy to do that. If I think about what bloggers I adore the most it is exactly the bloggers that are able to do that. Bloggers that are able to and do have the guts to show what kind of people they really are. I guess that if we just are copycats copying everything we like from other bloggers our blog will be pretty ordinary.

One of the ways I like to express myself is through blogs that talk about “Why someone won’t do ‘something'” on someone’s blog. Giving someone something to think about as to why I won’t come to their blog to say “share” gives a whole new opinion to the idea.
You need to make good use of WordPress’s endlessley customizable interface to really make your site look terrific. I use WP for pretty much everything now and love it, so easy to use too.
