Setting up an online store is simple with help from some amazing e-commerce WordPress plugins. The WordPress plugin repository contains a number of options for simplifying your ecommerce back-end management and automating your sales process.
The best plugins work seamlessly with payment processing options, integrate with other WordPress plugins, provide in-depth reporting features, and offer security for both you and your customers.
WooCommerce

This free WordPress plugin offers a vast library of upgrades and has been highly rated by more than 5.7 million users. WooCommerce was built by the same designers behind WooThemes. WooCommerce can handle both large and small stores with the ability to customize complex coupon campaigns, track products, manage inventory, produce sales reports and control additional charges for taxes or shipping. A separate customer account area and secure Mijireh checkout makes this plugin a trustworthy, user-friendly tool for e-Commerce.
Jigoshop

The sleek Jigoshop e-Commerce tool provides access to marketing tools, SEO optimization, and shop management tools. Jigoshop features a one-page checkout for streamlined processing, along with detailed reporting to keep you on top of your shop’s activity. There's an extensive library of free themes and extensions to further update and customize your shop.
Stripe Checkout
Featured on thousands of websites and handling millions of transactions, Stripe Checkout offers responsive checkout that is capable of one-tap mobile payments on iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. Stripe continually tests its checkout process to improve conversion rates and keep the payment processed streamlined and user-friendly.
eShop
This shopping cart WordPress plugin offers order handling and product customization. Products can have multiple options and customers can sign up to your site if you choose to enable the setting that allows them to do so. You'll be able to select email templates and control messages for important customer communication, like your out-of-stock or successful purchase emails.
Ecwid

A powerful and newer plugin for a WordPress shopping cart solution, Ecwid has been used by over 500,000 sellers across 175 countries and offers integration with over 40 different payment gateways. Ecwid also boasts it can be added to a WordPress site in less than 5 minutes and can support 45 languages. One of the highest rated options by WordPress users at 4.4 stars out of 5 (from 110 reviews), Ecwid also provides unlimited storage, regular data backups and secure HTTPS encrypted checkouts.
WP e-Commerce
As one of the first e-Commerce options offered by WordPress, WP eCommerce has stocked up just shy of 3 million users since 2006. The plugin helps manage inventory, subscriptions and memberships, providing integration with dozens of payment gateways. Though it’s a popular option, some users complained of shipping integration glitches, the need for extensive customization, bloated design and programming bugs that made them go with a different plugin option.
Using developed plugins like these for your website can work wonders for boosting business, but there are a number of ways to increase conversion rate optimization. By making your site user-friendly and secure and managing your marketing efforts, you'll improve the experience of your customers and encourage higher conversion rates.

WooCommerce is the best. We have plugins choice. The problem is good free WooCommerce or e-commerce enabled themes. There are very few options when it comes to free good quality themes for shopping store.
I agree, Robert. That is a valid observation. Hopefully, we’ll get to see more of the better ones in the future.
Great article Shaun, my team uses CJ. Are there any mobile apps that you know of that tracks the statistics of a WordPress site and displays that in real time?
Thanks!
I couldn’t find any, Parker, except some that worked with iOS but still don’t have the features you’re looking for.
I prefer Woocommere. My theme has some special features that integrates well with WooCommerce. Although I am not currently using it, I feel WooCommece is the best in terms of features.
