Persian Poetess Pays Homage to Oprah

My first encounter with the lovely and gifted Persian Poetess came weeks before I actually heard her poetry.Trending Poetry from Persian Poetess

It's an interesting story that came about because I subscribe to my friend Justin's YouTube Channel. Most people know Justin as DragonBlogger. He blogs about technology, gaming, blogging, making money online and he's also known for his poetry (through his widely popular random Twitter Poetry Game). I get an email alert whenever Justin uploads a new video.

To make a long story short, I was pleasantly surprised when I went over to YouTube to watch his latest video and saw this game review called Infamous 2 – narrated by none other than Persian Poetess! I normally don't pay much attention to anything related to gaming, but this game review is an exception. Just take a look at this video, and you'll see why I was immediately impressed with the clarity and professionalism of her voice.

About The Poetry

Days later, I went over to see if the Persian Poetess was a guest blogger on DragonBlogger and I discovered that in addition to being a guest blogger, the Persian Poetess also has her very own blog called Trending Poetry. Here's what it says on her About page:

I am a humble college student eager to pursue a career that has anything to do with writing or script producing.  When I’m not working on poetry, I’m writing gaming articles on Dragonblogger.com or filming video reviews on entertainment products for Amazon.com.  Regardless of where I end up, as long as I can continue being a slave to my passions, a day at any millstone will make me happy :).

Oh and if you’re wondering…yes I’m a bona fide Persian and proud of it!

Poetry Based On Twitter Trends

This very unique blog consists of written poems that are based on trending topics on Twitter. She also records an audio version of each poem, which brings us (finally) to the Oprah poem called Queen of Joy and Jubilation and part of the backstory for this poem is that:

Much of the poem is sort of a homage to the impact she has left on this world through her show and voice.

I'm a huge fan of Oprah Winfrey and I also enjoy the unique twist of combining classic poetry with modern social media. She has a rare talent with just a touch of the exotic that makes Trending Poetry a blog you must plan to visit soon.

Stay tuned for more poetry

  1. Ileane your thoughts and insights about my work really touch me. It really is serendipity how we encountered each other. Gaming is among my artistic (yes I said artistic) interests because of the way it bring a story vividly and graphically to life. However, I remain a poet first and foremost. Figures like Oprah are poets of life, and if I may say…bloggers like you bring a much needed touch of the same essence that people like Oprah offer to this world. I do wish to keep in touch, may we always meet again. Take care.

    1. Hello there! I’m sure that our paths will cross again since I’m like your #1 fan right now 🙂 especially when you mention what I do here in the same sentence with Oprah.
Best wishes with your schooling and your career. You are certainly headed in the right direction. I’d love for you to guest post here on Basic Blog Tips one day and perhaps tell us more about how you got involved with doing Amazon reviews and share some more of your awesome poetry. I’ll chat with you soon!

      1. It would be an honor to do a guest post for you Ileane. I’ll definitely stick a pin in that and will be more than happy to do so with you in the future. See you around.

  2. Hi Ileane, this is lovely and so unique.

I’m just going to check out other similar posts on both her blog and Justin’s. Looks like I’m gonna have a new pass-time:)

    1. Hi Stella, It’s very refreshing to find someone so interesting and talented as the Persian Poetess. Justin has an eye for talent.
Btw – did you ever join the Random Twitter Game? Justin will send out a tweet asking for a word to be included in the poem. But in case you happen to be asleep when he sends out the tweet, just send him the word on Twitter http://twitter.com/dragonblogger and he’ll use it the next time. It’s fun and it’s amazing to see how he pulls all of the words together and pairs them with the perfect image. 🙂

      1. I agree, she’s uniquely talented and would do very well with stuff like voice overs, like freelancing for bloggers and IMers who want voice overs on products.

She’s already marketing herself with these – who knows who’s watching.

No, never heard about Justin’s Twitter game. That too sounds interesting. Remember I said you have your antennas really sharp, always getting to know about newest coolest stuff on the WWW.

    1. I’m glad I introduced you to her poetry. Thanks for letting us know that you enjoyed listening to the Trending Topics poem Queen of Joy and Jubilation.

  3. Well I am impressed as well , but the most surprising thing is she’s writing and singing her poet in English instead of Persian.

    1. Hi Sue, I’ll need to find out from her how many other languages she is fluent with. Thanks for the comment.

    2. Hello Sue, I’m only fluent in English sadly. I have always wanted to master Farsi, I use to speak it perfectly as a child, but lost it as I aged. The inspiration behind my name mainly derives from my love and true connection with my heritage. I grew up with the history, stories, and fairytales of the Persian culture. It is very near and dear to my heart. 🙂

  4. Feeling good being introduced with persian poetry by the virtue of Ileane’s posting. This is absolutely awesome. I thank to Ileane for her remarkable insights. Hoping next good such nice invention so that we can give you outstanding ovation. Don’t say anything without praise.

  5. You know sir that poetry study is my passion and today I see very carefully on the blogs. That haven seen this I become very happy. That all the content are too good on the blogs.

  6. I just jumped over to her blog and read the first post I came across. Really unique! Never seen or heard of anything quite like this before. I’m excited to start reading her blog on a more regular basis!

    1. Hi Petra, reading the poetry from Persian Poetess is really a delight and listening is even better. 🙂

  7. I want to see the review! 🙁 I love gaming. I like infamous and this sounds so interesting.
    Stupid youtube block!

I love the modern form of Poetry, making use of twitter trending topics is such a great idea.
Not a big fan of Oprah, maybe has something to do with me being a young man. Although I have to admit I’ve watched the show some times and didn’t dislike it.
And you can not deny that Oprah has/had a positive effect on the world. With so many people/women watching and the important topics she has covered.
