How to Easily Take Daily Action On Your Blog Promotion Efforts

Blog promotion is one of my favorite things to do as a blogger, next to creating content.

Of course, I don’t engage in or particularity like all blog promotion tactics, especially the ones involving monotonous, tedious tasks that don’t substantively aid in the longevity of my blog traffic.

If I’m going to put time into blog promotion, I’m going to make sure that my efforts have “sticking” power!

And ensure that my efforts will work to increase my traffic and brand exposure in more ways than just one.

While blog promotion is one the most important things to a blog’s success, one of the hardest things to do is ensure that we’re taking daily action towards promoting our blogs.

In this post I want to share with you a simple system that I follow to ensure that I’m always actively taking daily actions toward promoting my blog.

My blog promotion strategy

One of the most important things to me is that my blog promotion efforts are effective, but at the same time fun and easy to do.

I’m really big on promoting and driving traffic through directly engaging my audience. What better way to do that than by jumping directly into the conversation?

I’ve found that the best and easiest way to do this is by doing a lot of what we do naturally as active participants in the blogosphere.

And that is…

Blog commenting

Blog commenting is not only a great way to keep a steady flow of traffic going to your site, it’s FREE. And we all love free, don’t we? 🙂

Plus, commenting as a blog promotion strategy incorporates several other important aspects of building a successful blog:

There are many more benefits to blog commenting for traffic and promotion. But the key to reaping as many benefits from blog commenting as possible is to do it properly.

Creating and implementing weekly/daily “action-lists”

This is where the commitment to taking daily action comes in.

While actively engaging your audience through daily blog commenting is a great blog marketing tactic, if you’re going to be doing a lot of commenting it’s helpful to have a way to keep track of your activities.

One of the best ways to do this is to create daily/weekly checklists; or as I like to call them, “action-lists”.

I like the term “action-lists” because it sounds more profound and reminds me that I need to be taking specific daily actions to promote my blog.

A few months ago, I devised a daily action-list and schedule for myself.

It’s designed to ensure that I’m directly engaging and interacting with my target audience on a daily basis, while at the same time actively participating in the blogosphere by leaving a set number of substantive blog comments per day.

You can download my daily action-list schedule and my blog commenting roster at the link below to have a point of reference when creating your own action-list:

You'll see that I have specific tasks laid out to take action upon on a daily basis.

Once I’ve done a task, I place a check mark beside it to signify that I’ve completed that required action.

I usually comment on 10 to 12 blogs per day, ensuring that my comments are high quality and substantive. However, you’re free to set your own daily commenting goals depending on your available time.

A good number to begin with is around 5 per day, which usually takes about an hour or two, depending on the length of your comments.

You’ll also notice that in my blog roster I have a list of blogs to comment on weekly, which include a mixture of top blogs as well as up and coming blogs in my niche. I also add blogs to this list weekly as I come across new blogs to comment on.

I keep track of how many blogs I’m commenting on per day and which blogs I’m commenting on to ensure that I’m covering all of my bases and to stay organized. It’s also important to note that it’s okay to comment more than once per week or day on one specific blog.

This roster is also helpful in keeping track of the relationships you’re building and for keeping track of potential blogs to submit guest posts to.

Marketing Takeaway

Effective blog promotion is the key to creating a popular blog, growing your brand and quickly building your audience.

It’s important to have a specific strategy in place and take daily, measurable “action steps” towards your end goal.

I just shared my action plan with you and how it cohesively works into my overall blog promotion strategy.

I suggest that if you don’t currently have an effective blog promotion strategy in place that you devise one as soon as possible, using the information in this post as a point of reference.

Have fun taking “action” on your blog promotion!
