Benefits of Outsourcing Blog Tasks

The Benefits of Outsourcing Your Blog Tasks Right Away

Do you ever feel burnt out?

I know exactly what you're going through… Repeatedly delivering the goods with your blog content is time consuming and downright draining sometimes.

Just when you think you've got a handle on the whole thing, life kicks in and more pressing tasks get done.

Is it delusional to think that one day it will all just fall into place?

You'll meet your blogging deadlines, your content will rock and you'll have your lifestyle back.

Of course something that awesome isn't just going to happen by itself, you need to get proactive. But it can happen.

The best way to get the results you're looking for from blogging, without working 16 hours a day, is to think about outsourcing tasks to other people. That way you can focus on what you are uniquely good at.

So why should you outsource blog tasks?

Here are just a few compelling reasons;

  • It allows you to wear the one and only “hat” that you should be wearing. Rather than wasting all of your valuable time wearing the developer hat, the blogging hat, the social media hat etc.
  • It's a lower cost and less risky alternative to hiring someone full-time because you pay for what you get
  • You'll see an uptick in results, because all of a sudden you can spend your time and energy on other important tasks
  • It gives you piece of mind that your blog will last, even if it isn't reliant on you

If you're convinced that this is the way to go, then this Infographic will help you think about what tasks you could start outsourcing;

When you’re running a small business, time is a precious commodity and online marketing can take up a lot of your time. In order to gain this time back, many small businesses have started outsourcing their online marketing efforts.

  2. Hey Will,

Outsourcing can be a great benefit for those that run a home business and still work a full time job. I’ve hired a VA in the past to help me promote my content on social media and it did help a lot. There was no worries for me to market online and I could focus more on producing content.

Thanks for sharing Will! Love the infograph!

    1. Hey Sherman,

Thanks for commenting and I’d have to agree… Promotion is a great aspect of blogging to outsource. Because a lot of us forget how important it is!

      Have a great day.

  3. Hi Will,

    Excellent entry you have here…

When I initially came online, I imagined it wasn’t at all necessary to outsource…accordingly, I attempted to do all the blogging tasks by myself…

It was such an abysmal failure!

Today, I’m a ton more knowledgeable…I focus on what I can easily be the best in the world at: writing…every other thing is outsourced.

    The result?

Better writing, more free time and importantly, less headaches 🙂

Be certain to make the day great!

    Always,
    Akaahan Terungwa

    1. Hi Akaahan,

That’s exactly what I’m talking about… Focus on what you’re uniquely good at and outsource the rest!

Thanks for the comment and have a great day.

      Cheers,

      Will B

    Hello,
Outsourcing blog tasks are very useful because it saves a lot of time and also specialized persons can handle your tasks as per your requirements.
Sometimes there are some tasks which you cannot do alone or don’t have enough knowledge about, in such cases outsourcing become very useful.

  5. Hi, Will

An informative article by you on outsourcing. It is true that one single person cannot do all the task perfectly. I usually outsource my writing task to Human Proof Design.

Before outsourcing, I used to write content myself which involves a huge amount of time. The time left was utilized for content marketing. Now it is much easier as I had to focus only on promotion, and my content is done by others at a reasonable price.

    Thanks for Sharing! Cheers.

    1. Hi Tauqir,

Thanks for sharing your experience with Human Proof Design, I’m sure lots of readers will get some value from that!

  6. Hi Will,

Most of the times I try to work myself but it is becoming so hectic to me, I came to your post at the right time to learn the benefits of outsourcing our work which gives us more time to concentrate on productive work like content.

Thanks for sharing this infographic, I am going to bookmark this post for future reference.

  7. Hi Will,

Unless one is ready to sit right there in front of his computer 24/7 (no sleep) and still ended up with a crappy results to show for his efforts, then he can ignore outsourcing completely.

There is just much to handle, too many nuts and bolts to tighten….no excuses, outsourcing is the way to go.

    Thanks Will….nice infographics.

    1. Ironically, sitting in front of their computers 24/7 is what many freelance copywriters actually do.

      1. That’s true, and a reason I hate been a freelance copywriter. I steadily receive writing offers from client, but honestly…..I 99% of the time tuned them down because to me blogging shouldn’t be another 9-5 hour a day job.

If you have to sit right there and write/publish xxx amount of articles either for your blog or for client to earn your living online, you’ve not get yourself the freedom of time….but set yourself up for another “self” 9-5 hours a day job.

*No disrespect to all freelance copywriters out there* just the way I see things.

Great article for bloggers especially the use of infographics. I think for bloggers, making strategy is more important than any other thing. Because everything else just revolve around it. Every blogger should outsource all other things so that he can focus on the strategy.

  9. Great post and something that I can truly relate to. I really love that you brought up wearing just a single “hat” when getting menial tasks outsourced for your blog. Back then, I find myself switching tasks within the day because I’m a control freak when it comes to work. As a result, I don’t get to finish anything at all because of the constant switching of hats. Nowadays, I have gotten help from people who can write posts and promote them via social media. It’s not much (as I would like to delegate more tasks in the future) but it’s definitely a start!

    1. Hi Christopher,

      Thanks for the thoughtful comment…

I know what you mean, it’s really hard to give up control sometimes. But I’ve found the more you work at the recruitment process, training and onboarding, and find really good workers, the better the quality of work is. Once the quality is there it’s much easier to give up control!

  10. Will, I so agree with this one. I started using a great techie for my blog over a year ago as I used to struggle with mundane tasks and having to learn them all took hours upon hours. Now i just like to write, keep up with comments and promote. I’d like to do more of it in the future as well. Maybe for graphics to keep all my posts uniform with a theme would be awesome. Time is something we cannot replace. Money we can 🙂 Have a great day Will.

    1. Lisa,

You’re spot on… Time cannot be replaced.

In terms of “replacing money”, in my experience the more you can strategically outsource, and the better processes you get in place, the more money you actually make anyway. Because it frees you up for everything else.

      Have a great day!

  11. I definitely know that I will need to start outsourcing some of my work in order to keep up with the daily tasks that I need to get done. That’s why I’m starting to rethink my blogging overhead budget to see where I can trim and make room for someone to help me out with tasks. Thanks for the infographic by the way. Some very good ideas on it.

  12. Sigh! This post is a productivity teacher for me. Quick question, what if the blog hasn’t grown up to the money making level? How does the blogger sort outsourcing?

    Beautiful post. Thanks Will.

    1. Hi Akinde,

Good question… There are lots of little tasks you can outsource on services such as UpWork or Fiverr. I would probably start with that.

It takes quite a lot of work to make money blogging, and it’s a lot harder than it used to be. The quickest way to make it happen is to spend a bit of money early on and treat it as a business. Sure, it’ll feel like you’re losing money for a little while, but if you spend it wisely it will pay back in the long term.
