One of the hardest parts to running a blog is getting people to your blog; aside from making it interesting, and of value to your readers. This is why keyword research should never be overlooked when creating a blog. Â However, keyword research can take a long time to complete, and isn't really a fun and exciting part to operating a blog. Â I want to introduce Market Samurai to you, as I have been using it for a couple months with excellent results.
Market Samurai has a number of valuable tools such as, site placement tracking (rank tracker), seo competition, monetization, and even allows you to find blog post ideas, in which you can rewrite in your own words or get backlinks from. Â Really an affiliate marketers, or professional bloggers dream. Â However, in this article I want to talk about how Market Samurai makes it easy for me to find keywords that people search for, and more importantly will gauge how easy they are to rank for.
Market Samurai is a worthwhile investment
I know if you are going to invest your time and effort into a website or blog you want to make sure you are not wasting your time. Market Samurai really does take the guesswork out of the equation, though. I am not really the kind of person that goes out and buys all kinds of software, but rather invest my money in link building, content creation, etc. but this application was really worth my money.
A lot of people know how to do keyword research and really know how valuable it is to making money online. However, if you are like most people, you either procrastinate doing your research or just outsource other people to do it for you.  Believe me I did both of those the past couple years and I am very fortunate that I discovered Market Samurai when I did.  For instance, I am very good at SEO, but keyword research is just way to time consuming for me, that was until I discovered Market Samurai (which Tom Sinfield who runs Standoutblogger.com) showed me one day.
Save Time Researching Keywords
Wow, this saved me a lot of time! Â And it is painfully easy to use as well. Â All you need to do for the keyword research tool is type in keywords you want to rank for, or even make them broad and MS will suggest some keywords for you, as well. Â You can filter them the way you want, too. Â For instance, if you want keywords that have 100 hits a day you can easily specify that. Â You can sort your results by a variety of different categories which include total searches (broad, exact, and phrase), SEO traffic, which is the number of estimated hits you will receive at the number one spot on Google, Google trends, Adwords traffic (a variety of different ways of analyzing it), I don't use Adwords but if you are PPC guru can help you a lot, optimized keyword results, and how many sites use the keywords in their title. Â There are a plethora of ways to sort your data, as well.
For me, I do a lot of SEO work for other people who want to build a niche website, so I can easily save my settings for each site. Â Saves you hours of time! Â Not to mention I use the “rank tracker” to see how well I am doing, and I am in fact going up in the search engines. Â I know of a lot of people that use Wordtracker Professional and I believe that software cost several hundred dollars.
Another great feature I love about Market Samurai is you can find other relevant Squidoo lens, Wiki's, Hubs, etc. and leave quality comments, and either build up your social properties or the website or blog you are working on. Â Also, it really helps a lot with content creation as you can type in some keywords and get tons of articles from various sources to read. Â Just pick out interesting content and have it rewritten in your own words, and you can start making a massive amount of internet income from this tool on MS.
Really, there is no one way to run Market Samurai; you just have to use it the way you want. Â If you want to go for insanely hard keywords then MS will tell you, but if you are like me you don't want to have to put so much effort forth in order to rank in Google. Â Its kind of similar to Micro Niche Finder, but has a lot more features.
Final thoughts about Market Samurai
What really makes this great is it does all your research for you. Â You can go take a shower, go to the bar, eat dinner, or whatever and in a couple minutes your research will be done for you. Â You can then export it to an Excel spreadsheet and decide which keywords you would like to target and eventually go for in Google. Â Believe me all that research could take you hours to do, however can be done in a matter of minutes with Market Samurai.
What I typically do is go for keywords that get 1,000 searches a month and have under 5,000 in title keywords. Those should be pretty easy to rank for and a handful of authority backlinks to a property optimized page, will get me ranked in no time at all. Â Bare in mind, I do go for keywords that are harder than that, but I have a piece of mind because I know I am going to have to work harder in order to get ranked for those keywords in the SERPS.
I can’t believe so many marketers still ignore keyword research and SEO traffic.
Market Samurai is definitely one of the best tools in my marketing arsenal; I second your high recommendation.
Ana Hoffman
I agree, many marketers do neglect KW research. It is like going into a fight without training for it. They are enticed by making money online that they forget the most important step. Once you get the KW research done to an art the sky is the limit!
Ana and Garen, I wholeheartedly agree. I’ve only been involved with this industry for a couple of years and I’m amazed at how little thought and poor thought goes in to the various online efforts. I frequently get angry with website designers/builders who’ve taken money from a client without even discussing things like keywords and SEO. ARGGH!!
BTW, I use Market Samurai regularly. Very helpful tool.
Good stuff, Garen.
I’ve been using MS for some time and could not agree more with your assessment. Many articles I’ve posted have been found on page one of Google the following day. This is not always the case of course, but it has happened often enough to know that this tool really works when used properly.
This tool also comes with lots of support and tutorials, so it is a worthwhile investment.
YES. I love love love love Market Samurai!
Everyone serious about blogging needs to have this piece of software in their arsenal, bar none.
I just wish I had learned about it and bought it sooner!
Yeah, me too it has really changed my life. Instead of hunting for hours and finding a couple good keywords to dominate in Google I can now spend no time at all and even make sure I can get ranked with ease. My list are long now it it keeps me really busy! Not to mention keywords that are harder I can brace myself to put lots more effort to get top listing in Goolge :).
You have a really inspiring and interesting Blog. It is really fun to read.
If you like, you can check out my website as well at: marketingsecretsunlimited dot com I would be grateful 🙂
I also offer free software.
I bought it…..shortly before giving up on SEO. lol I’m sure I’ll use it one day.
Btw, while doing nothing on purpose, I still enjoy upwards of 40% of my traffic from Google. 😉
I first learned about Market Samurai when decided to take on the 30 Challenge of Ed Dale. This was really a ground breaking experience as I had the time to virtually drill down on all of MS features and learned how to use it like the “Pros” 🙂 Believe it or not, I was one of those who completed the Challenge without missing one single day of action. Do I recommend MS? Let me put it this way… If you are serious about your online endeavors, absolutely, the investment is worth every bit. And just for the record, MS has also a nifty tool that makes finding that ideal domain name, a breeze.
It does come with heaps and heaps of video tutorials and is updated on a regular bases. The tutorials are really good too. Have been using it for awhile now and started watching the videos and have discovered ALL the features. I can easily say I have made my $150 back!
I have been using Market Samurai for a while now. I started out with their free trial and after I learned how to use the tools for keyword research and finding competition I purchased the tool. I also use Market Samurai if I am going to write a few different articles for different sites. That way I can write the articles and post them without logging into multiple admins. I have just recently been introduced to the monetization features and features for finding domain names.
I love MS for the keyword research and the rank tracking, but I have a hard time interpreting the data in the seo competition module. I suppose I will get better at in time, but so far I’ve had a few surprises with not ranking for terms I thought would be easy and ranking for terms relatively quickly I thought would take a long time. Any tips for using the competition module? Thanks!
If there are under 5000 competing sites and lower than 2000 title comp always make sure you use SEO Quake, next. I usually check the top 5 sites listed in Google and sort by the traffic value. Look at their links and build links with a higher traffic value. I ignore PR because I think it is a thing of the past. Some links that will carry a lot of weight are Yahoo answers, Squidoo, Hubpages, Blogger, WordPress, Weebly, Gather, ect. Once those links get cached lookout! But build slowly.
Can even buy a Yahoo Directory, Business, and BOTW.org for 300 a year. Should work wonders for your site.
Garen – I have been using Market Samurai for about a year now and I agree with you when you say it’s an affiliate marketers or professional bloggers dream. There is so much you can do with this keyword research tool and the feature that lets you see how easy it would be to rank for a certain keyword is invaluable.
I have been using it in beta version and it’s definitely a time saver. Market Samurai also has a blog where they give tips on keyword research, tips on how to use the Market Samurai keyword tool, and even tips on how to get ranked highly in search engines. They provide a great service.
I’ve heard about this product, I guess I have another one to research before I decide on spending some money. I checked out the website and it looks really good.
thanks for this info…
Garen,
When I see lists of must have tools in the forums, Market Samuri is on almost every list. It really is a good deal. And once you buy it you can promote it….you will want to promote it.
I use Market Samurai and love how it lets me track how my site is doing on the SERPS.
Nice review 🙂
I heard a lot of good feedback about using Market Samurai tools but i’ve tried it yet. However, i will try it as soon as possible.
Thanks for your reviews. Great job ! Arnold
Market Samurai is the real deal. I mean, this software alone is a money making machine. I already gathered some awesome long tails there that I am sure will bring good returns into my investment.
Although I always loved to do things manually, Master Samurai can help you a lot to manage your time better meaning it will save you a ton of it.
Nice to meet you, hope to see you around 😉
I have Market Samurai and the only negative thing I could say is that it’s such a powerful program it could take ages finding out all the different things it can do. 😮 I have just discovered that the MS training videos have written transcripts (which I prefer) so I’m going to study them and use Market Samurai more often. 8)

I love Market Samurai! In fact, it’s my #1 best pick for a gift for a blogger! Great rundown here, Garen.
MS is indeed a great piece of software!
Today was my first day with the trial version, and I’ve already decided to purchase it once the trial duration is over!
In under an hour, I’ve discovered that I was already targeting a very hard keyword, and that there were much easier keywords to target, that had nearly the same amount of traffic!
Definitely recommended to any person looking to do some SEO work for his site
I usually only use the Google Keywords External Tool for my keyword research but I may consider to use Market Samurai after this since it seems offer more.
I use the combination of Micro Nich Finder and Market Samurai for keyword research !
Great read here!!!
Hi Ileane
Not visited your site since you set the blogging world on fire with your GASP article – see it all over the web now.
I’ve looked at the Market Samurai vedeos and they are fantastic.
They take you through using the software in easy to follow and well explained steps. I was impressed.
One great plus for this software is that it is a one – off payment, or that’s how it appeared to me.
Similar software charges a monthly fee for updates – once you buy it, you are paying forever.
If I had a client base looking for SEO services, this is the software that I would buy.
What I mainly liked about it is video tutorial which is explained well to use it excellently..
Not only keyword research it would also give us good overview of competitors and their back links also strength of back links which are really good.
This is a really great review 🙂
What you have written here makes me want to get it right away. I like the way you summed up everything. And in the conclusion you said you go for keywords that gets like a thousand searches per month, and I think thats the best way to go. Thanks 🙂
You will fall in love with the program once you get it. Seriously, probably the best tool I have ever purchased!
Garen
Hello Ileane,
Market Samurai really is a high-class quality product. I’m looking forward to buying something from Market Samurai. Though, it’s amazing, how many marketers just forget or simply neglect the SEO and keyword optimisation for a website. This is the first time I entered the Market Samurai website, thanks to your article. I’ve heard before about Market Samurai, but only your article made me want to see what’s MS all about. Thanks a lot for sharing this great article and for showing me the importance of Market Samurai, it’s a fantastic tool.
Best regards,
Maria
I use both Market Samurai and MicroNicheFinder, and I have to say I would be sorry to lose either. They make the job of data mining so much easier, letting you see at a glance which keywords are the “low hanging fruit” and which ones will take much more time to compete for. MS is an excellent investment – and you get a free trial too!
I’m relatively new to Market Samurai but so far I am really happy with the results I’ve been getting. I’m one of those that never used to worry about keyword research but since MS I’ve been paying more attention to it, at least with the more important posts. 😉
What I like about Market Samurai is the way it assesses commerciality. I think it is the best keyword commerciality checker. Microsoft Commercial Intention Tool isn’t always good.
Kindest regards.
Mouh
I used it two times for couple of my websites..
It suggests good keywords and saves lot of time. Think about the people who builds 100 sites a day.
Wow, this post really got my mind crackin!
I guess I need to stop reading here and get back to work and apply it.
thanks
Market Samurai… this is actually the first time I’ve heard of it even though I have been blogging (more on personal and travel stuff) for a few years now. It’s just recently that I’ve decided to take my blogging to a more income generating level and your post is such a big help. I will read the other links you got here and I hope they help me generate more income for my other blogs. Thanks again!
I am thinking to buy market samurai for my niche marketing project. But I have second thoughts since I hate the idea of buying a tool just for keyword research.
This looks like a great option for my next marketing campaign, thanks!
I’ve also used Market Samurai for more than year. It is excellent at evaluating top 10 competitors as well as rank tracking. I like that they have introduced backlink data from Majestic, since Yahoo site explorer is shutting down this autumn.
Of course market samurai, one of the must have tools in the industry of internet. 🙂
Thanks so much for this article, I’m definitely going to try out Market Samurai!
It’s really a nice tool to have, it’s one of the best tool that most of the SEO use to find keywords and bring traffic to their websites. It’s certainly a great tool for SEO and promoting websites.
Thanks for the nice article. Market Samurai was recommended to me by many of my friends, however I will definitely use it now.
Bought Market Samurai and it is fantastic.
Use it mainly for checking clients rankings.
“20 keyword phrases checked on three search engines in under three minutes – can’t be bad.
Software is constantly updated and all included in the one-off price.
Not only marketeers who forget to do keyword research, also many bloggers because they think it doesn’t concern them.
Market Samurai is still my favorite program for doing keyword research.
I always use Google Keyword tool for keywords research and also I use Market Samurai to check out the SEO competition. It’s really a great tool!
I love being able to see which links my competition is getting on Market Samurai so that I can one-up them!
