What Changed My Mind About Triberr and Turned Me Into an Advocate

Dino Dogan and Dan Cristo have crafted what just might be the perfect social sharing community on Triberr.  That says a lot coming from a self-proclaimed Social Media Diva like myself.

I'm not going to go into a lot about why I didn't embrace Triberr when they first launched the site back in 2011 because that's old news and honestly – who cares about that. It's water under the bridge and this isn't about about the history of Triberr and how it has developed into the killer social media app that it is today.

But, here's what I do want to talk about.

I want us to explore the state of Triberr as it stands today, and how can it benefit you as a blogger, podcaster, and content marketer.

What Made Me Try Triberr Again

Initially I was prompted to revisit Triberr when I received an invitation from Robert Tyson to join his Marketing and Social Media Tribe. I was a little reluctant at first but the words “Social Media” jumped out at me so I decided to mosey over to the site and see who else was in the tribe. I was also curious to see if there were any predominant updates to the old interface.

The thing that caught my attention right away was that lots of people are following the tribe but only a handful are actually members. This means that the content of the tribe's members appears in the home stream of all the followers but the follower's content doesn't necessarily appear in the member's home stream.

Right away I thought to myself, “brilliant, I'd better accept the invitation and join this tribe asap“.

I was also influenced in part by my buddy, and well known Triberr-mate, Ryan Biddulph in his post 9 Reasons Why You Need To Join Triberr. Ryan is such a great writer and one of the top guest authors here on Basic Blog Tips so I've learned over the years to pay careful attention whenever he endorses a product or service.

Even so, I'm still amazed to see the power of Triberr in action right before my eyes. I had no idea I could grow such a powerful tribe and expand my reach in such a short period of time.

In less than 2 months of activity on Triberr, I currently have a reach of over 4 million across 9 tribes.

That's simply incredible considering the short amount of time I have invested in the platform. Talk about ROI!

At this rate I'll predict that if I apply myself and join more tribes, by the end of the year that reach could surpass the 10 million mark. As long as you are publishing valuable content on your blog, you can get the same kind of exposure once you start using the platform and joining some key tribes.

Triberr Sharing Stands out on HootSuite

In Ryan's article he talked about connecting with influencers and I must admit, this is my favorite part of being on Triberr.

Let me explain.

When it comes to using Twitter, I'm rarely on the Twitter website. I do most of my Tweeting from Buffer or HootSuite. Most of the time I'm monitoring the activity being shared by people in my Twitter lists which I added to columns in HootSuite. I'll check the stream for my Podcasters list, or I look at Tweets that contain searches that I saved for hashtags like #measure or #toolschat, etc.

For those of you who don't use HootSuite, there is a really cool feature that might come as a surprise to you. When you're checking your streams via the HootSuite interface, you get the ability to see exactly where Tweets originate. For example: in the screenshot below, notice how “Triberr” is the sharing mechanism listed right next to the time stamp. I see it a lot, don't you?

Strategic Networking with my Tribe

I have some tips to share with you in the video and you'll also get a behind the scenes look at the Triberr interface. Watch How To Reach Millions of People on Twitter with Triberr

Special Perks for My Tribe Members

I like to do a little something extra for the members of Ms. Ileane's Blogging Tribe. For example, I will share their content on other social bookmarking sites like Inbound.org. Or perhaps I will add a Tweet to JustRetweet so they can get extra social shares. Another way tip that I can share for other tribe owners is to create a Twitter list for your tribe. Here's a link to the list of my tribe and I encourage you to follow us and add the list to a stream in HootSuite or Tweetdeck.

TRIBERR VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Hey guys It's Ileane from Basic Blog Tips. Today I want to share with you how you can get your content to reach millions of people on Twitter by using Triberr!

Here we are over on Triberr and this is a tribe I established called Ileane Smith's Blogging Tribe, what else. Notice that the tribe has 51 members 1 follower and a REACH of over one million. And I'm really impressed by this number because I just started really being active on Triberr in about the last two to three months. So I think it's phenomenal that I've been able to build a tribe with the reach that's over one million users on Twitter in that short period of time.

Now let's take a look at some of the members of the Tribe. What you'll see that I really like about Triberr is that you get sort of a “report card”on the activities of the people in the tribe, and let's you know how long it's been since they visited, how long it's been since they've shared something.

So that way if you reach your limit of the maximum people that you can have on the tribe, and right now the limit for me is fifty because I have a Prime membership with Triberr. Then if you find that there's someone who hasn't been active, who hasn't been around – and if there's someone who sent you a request to be on the tribe then you can remove that person, and replace them with someone that's active.

One of the things that I like to do on Triberr is find tribes – not just my own – but other tribes that have a diversity. It's okay to have some tribes that are just focused on social media or like mine's is focused on blogging, but also to add some maybe some tech articles in there. Maybe some people that post articles for Mommy bloggers or just a little bit of diversity so that it just breaks up the monotony. You don't really want people tripping over each other constantly writing and posting and sharing the same type of content all the time. You want a little diversity in your tribe.

So that's one the tips that I have for Triberr.

Now over in the activity stream of the tribe. This is where you can easily see in order to share something you just simply hover your mouse over it and it will share it. You can set up your account to share things at certain intervals. Whatever you choose!

You don't have to automatically share someone's content, but if you want to you can. For example here's Michele Welch she always puts out fantastic content. She does videos, she's always on top of all of her game. So I am going to choose to “auto share” Michele's content and it's as simple as that.

And one last tip I want to share with you about Triberr and getting the Prime membership. This gives you the ability to have what's called an Atomic or Automatic tribe that people can follow your tribe and they will automatically share your content.

So get yourself an account with Triberr. Of course you sign in with Twitter and expand your reach on social media.
