April Announcements on Basic Blog Tips

From blogging contest to the Royal KissThere's plenty of exciting news through out the blogosphere in the month of April including all sorts of announcements of one blogging contest after another where bloggers get the chance to win loads of cash, to intense blow-by-blow coverage of the Royal Wedding and the long awaited, very highly anticipated Royal Kiss.

More about that kiss later, let's talk about the blogging contest stuff first.

Traffic Generation Blogging Contest

As you know, Hesham from FamousBloggers has transformed the entire concept of guest blogging contests and what we all can expect from them (big ca$h prizes to be more specific). This year I decided to put my money where my mouth is and support the Traffic Generation contest at the level of Ideal Contest Sponsor (I was a judge in the previous blogging contest). Besides writing a fantastic post, all of the contestants get a chance to earn points for the number of Retweets or Facebook shares and likes. As a sponsor of the contest, I gained substantial benefit from having links to my blog posted on all of the contestants blogs. Quite a few of the contestants earned extra credits by writing reviews of the sponsors blogs and I was delighted that a few of them reviewed Basic Blog Tips! I'm very grateful to everyone who wrote a review, but I can't list them all because I don't want you guys to overdose on me (not just yet anyway), so here are a few you can check out.

Blog Engage Blogging Contest

Brian from Blog Engage is by far one of my favorite people. Seriously.

I can't think of any one person who has accomplished as much in the blogosphere over the past couple of years since we met. Brian is definitely into all aspects of blogging contests and he proved that with his award winning post (no he didn't actually win yet but I'll bet he does) in the Traffic Generation Blogging Contest. He has also proved over and over again to be someone who gives back to the community. This time he's doing it big time by awarding everyone who supported his blogging contest entry How to Drive Consistent But Free Traffic To Your Blog to be sponsors of the Blog Engage 500 USD Guest Blogging Contest #2 of 4. Now who can top that?!? (don't even try to think of someone OK.)

WeBlogBetter Blogging Contest

Kiesha from WeBlogBetter is someone I need to mention more often here on Basic Blog Tips. She is a dynamite blogger and writer and I'm proud to be considered as her friend. When she mentioned her upcoming blogging contest (the WeBlogBetter Contest starts on May 1st) initially I considered entering. After mulling over the idea for a couple of days, once again decided to be a blogging contest sponsor instead of a contestant. The competition will be at such a high level and quite frankly, I'm looking forward to see one of you guys enter and win the cash instead.

Kiesha and I shared second place in the Personal Finance Blogging Contest and looking back, I loved the way we supported each other as if we weren't even competing for the $1,000 dollar prize – it was more like being on the same team. 🙂 If you ever need help getting started with content for your blog, get in touch with Kiesha and you'll be fine.

Facebook Ad Blogging Contest Giveaway

Onibalusi from YoungPrePro gave away 20 $50 Facebook Ad Coupons in a contest he had over on his blog and guess what – I won! So there I was with a $50 Facebook ad coupon and no Facebook Fan Page 🙂 If you know me well at all, you've probably figured out already that I gave the coupon to my daughter Nikki and with the help of some Facbook advertising tips, we put together the first ad campaign for her Estava Morioka Facebook Fan Page. For those of you that are looking for some stylish party dresses for yourself or as a nice gift for that special lady in your life, head over to her site and pick something up. Her prices are reasonable and just to get your interest, I'll share her latest video with you so you can see a few items she has in the boutique available for purchase now.

More on the Royal Nuptials

Ok, I admit it. I'm a sucker for a good love story and the Royal Wedding seems like it will have a fairy tale ending. I watched the entire event, heck I was even live tweeting the whole time and I had a ball. Here's one of my favorite Tweets I sent just for fun:

Did you get a chance to watch the Royal Wedding? Were you wondering the same thing I was?

Btw – if you get a chance, stop over to the CommentLuv blog and read my latest guest post called You Do NOT Need SEO to Blog – Told You!

One last thing if you plan on entering Brian's or Kiesha's blogging contest, it's ok to leave a link to your post in your comment.
