Now that you’ve started recording YouTube videos to promote your website or small business, you can take your video marketing to the next level by enhancing those videos with interactive applications powered by Viewbix. I first heard about Viewbix from Vernessa Taylor and right away I was impressed by how Viewbix can transform an ordinary video from YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook, into a powerful marketing tool that can help increase traffic, sales and conversions. Here’s the description of Viewbix taken from their website:

Viewbix lets you add interactive apps and calls-to-action to your videos. The apps put dynamic content on top of your YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook videos to create a rich viewing experience that engages viewers and can be shared across the web, social and mobile platforms.

Viewbix in Action

Take a glance at the video I’ve embedded below. It looks very similar to a typical YouTube video but up at the top, you’ll notice a very striking difference. There’s a blue border with the name of the video and a clickable-hyperlinked button that says “Get Viewbix”, and that’s not the only thing that stands out. Glance over on the right hand side and you will see several icons. Each of those icons represents a customized Viewbix generated application that I created in what’s called “Viewbix Studio”. You can learn all about “The Studio” and take a quick tour of the interface in the video I recorded called Viewbix Tutorial – Create Interactive Branded Videos with Calls to Action.

I selected 7 apps to add to the video above, but watch the demo and you’ll see that I had 24 of them to choose from. If you have a local business or a franchise you can add apps for Store Locators or Google Maps to provide directions to your place of business. And I’m sure your customers will love the nifty coupon app that you can use to generate printable discount offers. Other Viewbix apps include everything from MailChimp, Flickr, SlideShare and Scribd all the way to Ebay, Yahoo Weather and even Stock Quotes can be added to your video too!

Breaking News! Viewbix just added AWeber to the Apps list!

Adam Riemer, the affiliate manager for Viewbix, talked about its advantages for the mobile market and the proven effectiveness of the clickable calls to action in a post on the GrowMap blog.

Marketers have tried things like using rich media or flash, but those don’t always work for mobile devices all the time. You could try adding in a url to the video, but that isn’t a real or solid call to action and people won’t always type the url in. Instead they search for a product name. That is why a new tool called Viewbix came out and is catching on so quickly…Because you can add in clickable calls to action and show videos and images of your products, you can now measure the effectiveness and reach of your video campaigns.

Custom Viewbix Webpage

One of my favorite features of Viewbix is this personalized webpage (see below) that is created for each and every one of the Viewbix enhanced videos. This is great option to showcase your product video on it’s own page which includes additional information about the featured product along with your latest tweets.

Powered by Viewbix

 Viewbix Analytics Track ROI

In the video, which I recorded a few weeks ago I gave you a glimpse of the analytics charts in my Viewbix dashboard. Since then I had a chance to gather more information, here’s what I did. After powering my videos with Viewbix, I embedded them in posts on the this blog, in the post on GrowMap and on the Basic Blog Tips Facebook Page using Timeline Apps I created using Lujure:

Viewbix Charts

The engagement levels were increased and people are clicking on the apps each time I embed an enhanced video to Facebook or a blog post. During this time period I sold 5 affiliate products which is far more than what I sold the month prior to using Viewbix. This is also a great time for me to disclose that I’m a Viewbix affiliate and should you decide to join their affiliate program, please let them know that I sent you :)

A basic account with Viewbix is free and allows you to enhance two of your videos with the standard applications. Visit the site to learn more about Pro and Enterprise account options. If you use my affiliate link to check out Viewbix I earn a small commission, but it doesn’t change the price you pay should you decide to get one of their plans.

I plan to add calls to action to every one of the videos I have embedded here on the blog and going forward on new Facebook Page tabs I create with Lujure. I encourage you to get started with Viewbix and incorporate it into your video marketing plans from now on.

What do you think about the video I recorded? Can you think of ways to use Viewbix for your next product launch or to show case your small business?

Thanks for introducing me to this amazing service Ileane. Awesome how you find these things to enhance video marketing :) Now all I have to do is make more videos :) , or perhaps, like you said, add some call to actions on the ones that I already have (we’ll see). Sadly, just can’t seem to find the time to make one.. yeah the old excuse, lol

Hope all is well and Happy Easter.

Thanks and happy Easter to you too.

The video on their site looks interesting, though all those extra features might be distracting. Any stats on how well this increases conversions with the direct call to action?

Adam Riemer offered me a chance to check out the suite of features found in Viewbix. Like Ileane said, as she constantly puts out new and informative YouTube videos), I knew she would put that baby to the absolute test! :D

I’m finally creating some new videos for a new site and have Viewbix in mind to enhance them.

Girl, you’re always finding such great stuff. So I guess we have Vernessa to thank for introducing it to you.

Loved the video and your explanation on this service. I hopped over there since you mentioned this one in one of my comments over at my place and I can see the benefit of having this service. Will have to play around with it more but I love that you can access a lot of the different services and customize your video right from their service. Nice!

Thanks again Ileane for always informing us of so many cool new things. You’re the Queen in this area my friend.

Have a beautiful Easter and hope you’ll be spending it with your family.

Adrienne, you and I need to get on Skype or speak on the telephone one day next week. I was about to burst at the seams when I was reading Paul’s comments on your blog post. No disrespect to Paul or anything like that but that is your space and I didn’t want anyone to think I was trying to start trouble LOL!!

We have two different schools of thoughts that’s all, and one thing I don’t agree with that was said refers to the number of calls-to-action that you can add to videos.
Viewbix is a perfect example of that. These apps are all calls-to-action but they are non-aggressive and they allow the person watching to choose how many of them they want to click on. The cool thing about this is now we don’t need to worry about any restrictions that YouTube might place or when they might decide that we are being overly promotional. Keep in mind Viewbix works with Facebook videos and Vimeo also, so you can really test out what your specific audience will tolerate. It will also help to mention during the video, where the viewer can find those calls-to-action and what each one represents.

Adrienne, I know you will be able to get a lot of value out of Viewbix and I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

We most definitely do Ileane, I was actually going to email you on Facebook about just that so let’s catch up next week for sure.

Oh I certainly don’t mind and I LOVE Paul. But he loves to be challenged too so I welcome any interaction that others want to participate in over at my place. I have no doubt you can give him a run for his money and he did reply to your comment by the way.

I do believe that it’s just a matter of opinion on the calls to action. Everyone does have their opinions now don’t they!

By the way Ileane, I did shoot my video for Monday’s post and mentioned you toward the end of it. So watch out girl, hope you’ll get more visitors because of it. Will link to this post too. You are just awesome and with what you share, you are always helping us learn about new cool services. I love your blog!

Will definitely have fun playing around.

Thanks Ileane…

Very nice find, Ileane. I’ve always used the default Youtube annotations and tools that they provide, but this service seems to be a bit better for the simple fact that it provides analytics for each tool. That’s one feature that Youtube simply does not provide.

Joe, YouTube annotations are fantastic, but the only problem is that unless you are a YouTube Partner, you can only add links to other YouTube pages. You can add links to your website or any of the products you might be advertising. Viewbix takes care of that and does a whole lot more! Thanks for your comment Joe.

Hi Ileane,

Excellent review of Viewbix video enhancement service!

If you have a local business or a franchise you can add apps for Store Locators or Google Maps to provide directions to your place of business.

This feature alone is a real deal maker. Local businesses are notoriously slow to use the newfangled web apps. To their credit, many are trying to avoid the time-wasters of the bells-and-whistles which don’t contribute to their bottom lines and ROI. But something like this, that builds upon the video marketing they’re already doing, will be a welcome enhancement.

Great post and a really good idea for pumping up your video. I had a chance to sign up and play with it for a few days and here are some impressions and some questions maybe you can help answer.

1) The free version is really handicapped at 2 players. I understand the need to push pro (paid) but 2 seems too small a number.
2) The paid version is $200 if paid annually. I currently have 25 videos and add about 2 per month so in a year I will have about 35-40 videos. This comes out to over $5 per video. This is pretty high. For anyone with fewer videos (or paying monthly) this price goes up. I would much rather see a pay per video rate. I don’t need 100 players and won’t for a long time. This is a tool, not a core piece of my site and it should be priced like a tool. Just to compare- Vimeo pro which is a full HD hosting solution is $200 a year! Aweber – a full email management system is also $200 a year.
3) If you only see yourself using 2 or 3 apps – go to Elance and see what it would cost for a custom player that meets your needs. I got quotes (using Viewbix as a sample) of about $300. Over the long run this could save you a lot of money.
4) What happens if Viewbix goes out of business? Will my players still work? Will I be stuck with a site full of broken videos? Again, a good reason to think about Elance.
Again – this is a great idea and I am willing to pay a fair price but given what it does and the fact that I can buy it outright for $300 – it really seems over the top.

Hi Mitch, that’s interesting feedback. I don’t have any experience with Elance but I’d love to see what they come up with.

My videos don’t seem to get much traction over on Vimeo, which is fine by me because I don’t spend much time there anyway. I know that I can’t expect to get much out of a platform if I don’t put much into it.

I’m curious to see what kind of videos/products/services you’re promoting, and what Viewbix apps you’ve used so far.

I really need to do more with my videos so I get more off of them. I am definitely going to look into this piece of software.

Thank you so much for the great information.

Ileane,

You have quickly become my go to gal for podcasts and videos! You ALWAYS have great content. It’s precise and amazing quality.

For over a year now I have only given my precious podcast time to Pat Flynn. But now you are right there also. I thank you so much!

I have one question:
You upload to Viewbix your video from YouTube, right? Should we keep it private at first, make the additions on Viewbix, then republish it on YouTube then in the Viwbix form, then delete the original? I don’t want 2 of the same videos up on my channel.

Thx.

Allie, you’re just saying that because you watched the “One Day” video right. I bet Pat Flynn can’t top that one. :)

Seriously Allie – I’m so honored that you would even compare my videos to Mr. Smart Passive Income. Btw – I hear he is going to be at Blog World again this year along with Cliff Ravenscraft. It’s going to be awesome but I don’t think I’m going to be able to make it. How about you?

To answer your Viewbix question – you will upload your video to YouTube like you would normally and enter the YouTube url in the Viewbix studio. To be honest I don’t have any private videos on YouTube so I didn’t test to see if they work, but I imagine that they will. Viewbix doesn’t host the video, it must be hosted on another site like YouTube, Facebook, Amazon or Vimeo Pro. I hope that answers your question.

Chat soon Allie.

Hi Marcie, Viewbix will be good for Skype interviews too. Anything that can increase engagement will keep your blog visitors on the page longer. You can add the RSS app, so that people can subscribe to get all your interviews and the YouTube app will make it easy for people to subscribe to your channel and watch your other videos.

Thanks for stopping by Marcie. You and I are going to hook up on Skype one day soon!! Next time I take a day off from work I’ll let you know. :)

Hey April!
I know you can put Viewbix to good use since you’re such a pro at using YouTube to promote your brand. Embed those videos on your blog and you’ll find a reduction in your bounce rate and an increase in time visitors remain on your site. Keep me posted with your results. Thanks for your comment April (sorry for the delayed reply) :)

Hi, Ileake,

I must admit that I am so new to this blogging and video marketing world that it is not the right timing for me to do anything.

Having said that, I have learned a lot. Viewbix seems to be a good way to do some non-aggressive Call to Action. Having this tool means that we don’t need to worry about being perceived as overly promotional.

I appreciate your sharing :)

Viewbix has the potential to be one of the most used “video enhancing” plug-ins you can find on the internet. Who knew that you can put a border and a side bar on your videos? Well Viewbix can take your business and marketing videos to the next level by making it more professional and easier to access and share on other sites. Thank you for sharing!

Viewbix looks pretty awesome and does it also increment your YouTube pageviews as well? One question, is each YouTube URL a separate “player” which means you only get to host 2 YouTube video’s at all with free account, and only 100 with the first pay level?

And luckily I found this post just as I was working editing on our first video ad.

And while I’m sure adding video to our marketing would have made a big difference in our success I’m now convinced that we have a tool which will guarantee we will be much more successful than we would have been without it.

So again your blog has came to my rescue and provided detailed information on a subject that will greatly impact my chances of success.

Its persons such as you who provide the help so many of us need and it’s your tireless dedication to helping us succeed that is much appreciated.

And you can bet I’ll continue to be a staunch supporter and this like so many other posts you’ve made I’ll be sharing across my social media accounts.

Ms. Ileane,

Ok, you’ve been using this for several months now. How is it working? Is it worth it? How much do you pay per month with your package? What is the least expensive package to use Viewbix?

I am really curious, because I would like more interactivity in my blogs but don’t want to waste my time and money.

I really respect your opinion.

So what’s the word?

Thanks so much!

Jim, I think Viewbix is fantastic. I love that I have a stats dashboard where I can see exactly how many people are watching each video here on the blog. If I try to figure that out on YouTube’s Analytics I’d have to jump through all sorts of hoops to find out which video is getting the most traffic. I can also track interaction and see which apps are being used.

I logged in to my account just now and took a snapshot of activity from August 1 – October 31 and I’m really impressed. Take a look

Viewbix stats

People are sharing and clicking away! I’m getting email subscribers, YouTube subscribers, RSS subscribers you name it. I think Viewbix is well worth the $19 per month and knowing you, I’m sure you will join the affiliate program like I did and make that money back in no time.

I hope this helps make your decision and keep me posted with how it goes. Cheers!

Seems like they limit you way too much for the use of their players, and they are not even hosting the video.

One video = one player?

At 20 bucks a month that is only 100 videos? For lifetime?
