FAQ’s and Blogging Tips for Beginners
When you first create your blog, most likely you are in search of tips, tools and resources for good writing and answers to some of the same questions I had when I started to blog back in 2009. You are probably inundated by all the tutorials and blog advice that you feel overwhelmed with information overload. It turns out there is a plethora of confusing and even contradictory tips for good blogging on the internet. I’m here to help.
I spent hundreds of hours doing research, writing blog posts, recording YouTube videos, participating in forums, responding to questions and comments here and on social networks. Time and time again, I discovered that many people are asking the questions or looking for similar information when it comes to basic tips for good blogging.
So I plugged in my mic and decided that you needed a break from reading so many tips and tricks and what you needed – and more importantly what you really want – is for me to have a conversation with you.
And I did just that by recording five episodes of my podcast that go along in a chronological order, sharing my best advice and strategies that take you from start to finish and help you develop the perfect mindset and approach to conquer the battle of information overload.
This “Beginners Guide to Blogging Series” takes you step by step through the thought process and leads you on the path of successful blogging. The final outcome is for you to build a blog that thrives and helps you reach your objectives of building a strong foundation for your business and increase awareness for your brand.
With all that being said, let’s get ready to:
Discover how to start your blog the right way. Think about establishing your blog’s goals and listen to the story of how I got started blogging. Choose the perfect name for your domain and consider key elements that go into designing a blog with good branding and navigation.
Consider this one critical blogging tip, before you take another step toward successful blogging. Connect with influencers and promote your blog for free. Collaborate on projects and build your self confidence.
Now that you have conquered all the blogging basics, time to start tracking your progress. Use Google Webmaster tools to take your blogging to the next level.
List building is one of the most valuable business blogging tips ever! I use AWeber, but no matter which email service provider you’re using, be sure they are integrated with social networks and other web services like the ones mentioned in this podcast. LeadPages is another tool on my list of “must haves” when it comes to email marketing.
Promoting your content is almost as important as creating it. In this episode I talk about blog promotion and I share my most successful blogging tips! Find out how to leverage blog communities, guest posting and social networks to drive traffic and build authority for your site.
In this final episode of the Beginners Guide to Blogging Series, I talk about re-purposing content and sharing it in different formats and I show you how this helps increase traffic to your blog. This is a perfect example of what I’m referring to; here’s what I did:
- Recorded an episode for the Ms. Ileane Speaks Podcast
- Created the presentation and uploaded it on SlideShare and SlideRocket
- Posted the video on YouTube
- Linked to the blog post and embedded the video and presentation
- Re-purposed all of the above and developed this blog tips page!
