Our contests are based on many aspects and I have managed to break it down for you but do take note this is only for the May contest. The rules will be dramatically changing to benefit our sponsors who are our RSS Customers for the next contests. But however for the remainder of the May contest the point system is as follows.

  • Comments on Blog Engage story page, 1 point Unlimited Points
  • Sponsor Reviews, 10 points per review. Max points based on unique content

If you're interested to see how we will be improving sponsor reviews take a look at the article I wrote. This will only take affect in our June contest but I think it's a great direction to go and reward the bloggers for the hard work completed. This is also a great way to give back to our sponsors who are mostly your blogging friends, real bloggers like you and me.

Take a look at our current sponsor reviews and see how our blogging contestants are getting paid to build relationships with other bloggers and meet new people. I'm telling you, trust in me I will not lead you wrong. I want you to engage with other bloggers and you can ask anyone you know I'm always changing the ways we do things to better benefit our members.

    1. Hi Dennis , right now I add the rules to each individual contest article. So on the first of the month when I announce the contest it will always have the rules included! I’m hoping as the year goes by (2011) I can find some consistency and eventually create a page that displays the general rules for our contestants articles! For now the contest and it’s rules are still growing to meet the members needs. The rules change too often to dedicate a page and that’s why I add the rules to each individual contest article.

        1. The process is laid out nice in the monthly contest post. I find that to be very convenient. I also add the contest post into our header with a link that says Contest. I also have all the contest articles in a link in the header that says Contest Articles. Maybe I’ll change “contest” to contest & rules

            Good idea.

I have a separate page for rules, but however you do it, have the word rules in there somewhere.

          2. If you can run a tracking test, I’d bet you’ll see more hits to it. 😉

  1. Well, every month having a contest, I believe I’m going to go crazy for the year 2011, I mean most probably I’m going to submit content in every single month and make sure I can get to know more bloggers around or may be competitors….

    Let see… who’s up next?

    1. I know you can win when you try hard because you have shown over and over your a talented blogger. Right now you need to focus more on the review portion of the contest. These are real friends of yours that are spoors right now you should be doing so many reviews!

The next contest we will also have real bloggers to review so it’s going to work out great! Building relationships while earning money… I love it! Thanks for the comment and checking in to say hi!

  2. Brian,

Excellent for Blogengage. Every month having a contest is amazing. I’ve been thinking of joining BE contest from a long time but never got time (you know) but I’m defiantly going to join next BE contest.

  3. I just joined a contest at we blog better and the effort to publicize your post is pretty hard I feel. Also, one needs to have a really good network so that people come immediately. This might get tough if one does it every month! I can’t even imagine the time and effort one has to put in to win “every month”, you all are some amazingly dedicated bloggers!

I might just take part but maybe later, not soon. One guest post contest keeps me busy at the moment. Good Luck Brian, a very nice effort to keep everyone tapping away! 🙂

    1. Hi Hajra, yes at times joining contests is over whelming. One point I like to make here is that joining blogging contests isn’t always about winning. I’ve built so many new relationships at weblogbetter and the famous blogger contest it’s been extremely beneficial for me.

I know how you feel I’m currently hosting a contest every month while at the same time joining many to build awareness for blog engage. Trust me when I say I understand! If you can make sure to check us out we would love to have you as a member and guest blogger contestant!

    1. Hello Ivin, first thank you so much for the business I just got your e-mail this morning. I’m so excited to have you as a customer and look forward to building on a long term business relationship. I look forward to hearing from you 🙂

  4. Hi Brian,

$3,000 is a great award! I would like to sponsor your June contest as I am interested in getting connected and also getting some backlinks. I will have a look at your RSS and Contest Sponsorship Service page for detailed information.

    1. Hi Matthew, this June contest is our first run at the RSS and Contest Sponsorship and I think it’s going to be a huge hit! I’m actually creating the contest page as we speak and it’s so exciting!

I would be most interested in doing business with you. Also the amount 3000USD is looking a little low. We have already given away 1000USD and right now it looks like were giving away 500 USD each month for the rest of 2011 at minimum.

That means as of right now we will be giving away 4000 USD, 1000 USD over the projected and I’m sure this will continue increasing as we get more customers.

  5. 4000 USD cash is a nice reward. It is more like win-win situation for the guest bloggers and the owner alike.

  6. Finally I understand why these guest blogging contests are so hot all of a sudden.
I feel like I’m a bit slow for not understanding it faster.
This is a genius move for the blog owner if the site already pulls in some traffic.
Getting guest posts on your blog, getting the writers to put in major effort to popularize the posts and getting the sponsors major exposure. That is a win for host, a win for sponsor and a win for guest blogger. Even if you don’t win the contest, you are out there for all to see.

  7. Brian, I believe having these contests very often is very good. Thousands of bloggers actually reveal their talent due to this contest. I am simply a fan of reading. I hardly like being part of contests. I would just like to wish every participant all the very best.
