With more businesses like your's realizing that a blog is a valuable component of your content marketing strategy, you need to get creative with your B2B blog content in order to attract and retain more of your audience.
Here are some unique ways to get more visitors to come to your B2B blog.
1. Mention other bloggers
While your blog is about promoting you, it’s focused primarily on doing so by providing help and information to your audience. By mentioning other bloggers that you follow in your posts that may also be of interest to your readers, you are giving them a reason to come back and get more useful tips like that.
This shows your audience that your main intent is to provide assistance for their needs and issues rather than selling them anything. You can link to these bloggers, quote them, or just simply name them. An additional benefit is that, in turn, they mention you in their blog or link to yours, driving more traffic in the process.
2. Use syndication
According to John Rampton, serial entrepreneur and six-figure blogger, this is one of his favorite ways to attract more readers to his blog. “I added a RSS feed early on and syndicated posts to other high-traffic sites to attract new readers and keep others coming back for more. The fact that other well-read blogs and media sites were syndicating my articles built my credibility quickly and ramped up traffic very fast.”
Watch Ms. Ileane's video for detailed tips on using syndication. In How to Use RSS Feeds to Promote Your Content you'll learn how to get traffic by syndicating to sites like Triberr, Viral Content Buzz and Blog Engage just to name a few.
3. Acknowledge readers in blogs
When readers comment or provide feedback either on the blog or on social media pages, it’s a good idea to acknowledge them by name in the blog. Use their feedback and questions as a launching point for new blog posts. Not only will the readers feel valued at the inclusion, but they will also keep coming back to hear more and ask more questions to keep the dialogue going. Other readers will also see this willingness to include the reader, which will add to the momentum.
4. Focus on the best of anything and everything
Businesses often rely on other businesses to help tell them the best products and services that are available. As Chalmers Brown, CTO of Due (click here to learn more about Due), an online invoicing and payments company, noted, “We provide a lot of posts on our blog for small business owners about the best types of online tools beyond just payment tools.
The blog posts also include topics like the best online marketing tools, the best social media tools, and the best processes for finding new customers. These are some of our most visited and shared blog posts.”
5. Pick out and analyze the problems your customers face
While businesses may not want to think about their problems, they do actually want to hear someone else share their insights about them. It tells them that other businesses understand what they are going through and that they may even have some ideas about how to solve those problems.
This is the hook you can use in your blog posts to attract them to your blog. Be sure to use these problems in your blog post headlines and throughout the blog post to attract search engine ranking.
6. Tackle hot news stories
If there is a story that is breaking and relates in some way to your industry, this is an opportunity to stand out by covering it in your blog and providing your take on it. You can take this version and get it in front of media outlets but you need to work quickly on these before someone beats you to it.
Take these tips and try to do a few at the time and then measure the results to gauge any traffic changes to your blog. It may take a little experimentation and some time, so be patient and willing to make changes in your blog until you start to see some uplift in the numbers. Then, keep going with other types of changes to your B2B blog like video entries, infographics, research information and more. It’s about keeping it relevant and different than the rest of the crowd.
