In the world of blogging, you must have observed some blogs starting up with an article or two and then end up leaving their blogs in the ‘Silent Mode' where you see nothing more than those 2 previously written articles. These blogs are often left alone because –
- They don't really get enough traffic.
- There are hardly any comments on the posts.
- They can't find themselves anywhere on the first few pages of the search engines.
- They've hardly invested any money, hence they wouldn't suffer any loss!
*Because…
1) The Baby Is Just Born In The World Of Blogging
- Feeding (Content)
- Introduction To New People (‘Blogger-Ship')
- Start Talking (Commenting on other blogs)
- “The Baby Knows How To Speak!” (Guest Posting)
Once the baby starts getting the above mentioned stuff, it will start growing in a healthy environment! Make sure you fulfill the requirements consistently.
2) You Don't Own The Search Engines!
In any niche, it takes time for search engines to show up content from your blog. Same thing applies for Getting Google Authorship. Even if you optimize your posts very well, the competition in that niche or specific keywords will be tough to overcome. Even though it is hard to get on the first page of Google, it's never impossible! When I say that you don't own the search engines, I mean that it's not in your hand to rock the search engines during the early days of your blog. Give it some time! Keep Writing! And don't forget to optimize your blog effectively! Don't feel upset by saying “Google Doesn't Like My Blog!”. It will notice your blog's content soon. Blogging isn't about winning in the first lap, right?
3) Your Blog Isn't Social Enough
Getting more traffic through Social Media is every blogger's dream, and many have achieved it and are still achieving it. I refer to the traffic from social media as consistent traffic. This is because once a Facebook Page is liked, there are least chances that it would be unliked. Though it takes time to increase followers and fans on Twitter and Facebook respectively, it's always worth because the fans usually keep a watch on all the updates from pages as it appears on their news feed. And trust me, once they start liking your updates, they'll visit your page to check out on more updates. Social Media plays a very important role in blogging.
So if your new blog is isn't doing well in its early days, don't worry because patience is the key to success.
Hence, all I'd say is –
Don't Give Up In Blogging!
Bonus tip:
Here's some advice that Ms. Ileane gave to a new blogger who wanted to know how often she should post on her blog: “I would be more focused on publishing a new post every day or two until you build up a fairly decent amount of content – like 15 to 20 posts. This should give your readers as well as the search engines a good idea of what your blog is about. After that you can decide if your going to post more often or less often. I would do a minimum of once a week but if you want to do more that will work too.”
