Blogging communities serve a tremendous need for most of us. Most of us join them seeking knowledge or traffic for our blogs.
However, as you will soon learn, not all blogging communities are created equal. One that stands out far about the rest is BloggerLuv. I became compelled to hold BloggerLuv with such high esteem for one reason. The Creator of BloggerLuv is John Sullivan. I hesistate to call John the owner of BloggerLuv because it’s actually the members that OWN the site. So I gave him the name “The Creator”. When you get to know John, you’ll see what I mean right away. He made a statement that put into words something that we often take for granted – Women make the best bloggers. Right away I realized just how smart he is 
"The Owners" of BloggerLuv
This list really should be called the top 5 things to look for in ANY blogging community. At BloggerLuv you can:
- Promote your blog or services – from day one
- Meet and connect with other talented bloggers – from day one
- Registration is “Badge-free”
- Find that most members have a GRAVATAR (aka they are not trolls who don’t want you to see their faces)
- Gain respect and build authority for your brand and your content
BloggerLuv is unique in most of these areas. As far as I know it’s the only community that doesn’t require you to display a membership badge of some sort. Even though it’s not required, I display it proudly here. Luvly isn’t it?
John, The Creator (he wants the ladies to call him Mr. Wonderful), recorded this tutorial to help get you started on enjoying the benefits of this AWESOME community.
There’s another reason to join BloggerLuv I almost forgot to mention. It’s the only DoFollow site using BuddyPress! Please sound off with what you think about BloggerLuv, just keep in mind those 5 top reasons and let me know how we are doing.

Nice post Ileane… totally agree. I went to a lot of blog community sites when I was searching for blogs to comment on. One look at Bloggerluv and you can say its a “real community”….. not just a page of what stuff is featured, what blog is featured, and link here and a link there… no. The front page alone is full of interaction between members can be instantly seen right in the front page, you can see whats going on and it really encourages you to part of the action

Ileane, I finally had the chance to join bloggerluv a few weeks ago. I do not get to spend much time on there. But a few days ago, I found myself on there for several hours talking with members, instead of working on some of my other projects that I need to work on that night. The community is great and its only getting better…

It is truly a unique site that you can have fun and also share tips and support with an awesome group. I think it has the best of everything. John is a genius coming up with a different take on forming a community. It is so inspiring and uplifting to know such a wonderful group has each others’ backs. When someone asks for something, they are literally flooded with support. Something you don’t find anywhere else and that is what makes it special.

I have joined bloggerluv some time ago and not up until about a couple of weeks ago that I really started to take my first steps in there. I have to admit that I am not totally familiarized with how the site works, as I have tried to submit a link (test, but a good one), and I am unable to see it. I’ll keep on doing my “learning” phase and once I get a hand on it, maybe I’ll be more active. Site is looking good, btw (nice theme)

Hello Ileane, glad I found bloggerluv, I’m going to check it out and see if it’s a place where I can hang out, looks like a lot of my regular blogging friends are here too, so it might be an easy decision. I would be curious if the Creator himself might offer me some advice about how to promote a network of sites and blogs within his community. I sure would like to think that there is just one awesome community out there where you can post about other things besides blogging, social media and making money online – all within one community. Since I have self-hosted blogs about golf, recreational vehicles, marines, vacations, cruising, baby boomers, pets,nutrition, etc in addition to my social media blogs I would love to get some ink for them while swapping comments with other members who blog about the same kinds of things.

I was there for a bit but I am not honestly sure at the moment that I’m returning for the time being. I’m one of these odd folks that finds the buddypress platform unwieldy and slightly obtuse.
I’m currently looking into the BlogEngage community and optimistic about it but its too early to judge. I may be spoiled by the commentluv community, the commentback community and the tribe syndication communities I’m already part of (and seeking out new communities is time consuming something I’m running into as well).

Commentback usually is an emblem you’ll find on some blogs that is similar to the dofollow logo and basically says “If you comment on my blog I come back and comment on yours”. While it doesn’t promise 1-1 ratios, it does bring traffic back. Its one of those voluntary uninforcible things.
I’m in the process of getting a couple pages together on tribe syndication, there’s several communities. PBY tribe, which I run (we just merged my old Syndication Alliance into another project I run), uses small team mastermind format (team of six meets and hour a week on skype). TSA uses an open list however and they do syndication “whenevers convenient” and depend on a trus system to report your efforts. Both methods work together. I dont find TSA builds as close of working relationships but it does get some exposure out there a bit faster. Where Tribe Syndication groups differe from all the prior projects is that they’re focused on social media syndication. So if I to bring your newest post to the meeting, I would not only comment, but tweet, facebook share and either onlywire or ping.fm to get you 20′ish social bookmarks back to your site. I’m sure you can see how this adds up when you have yourself plus 5 others on a team. Getting 100 unique non-spammy bookmarks to your post in one day is hot. Thats what makes tribe syndication (syndication alliances) different than its older sibling blogging alliances.
I’ll have to go hunt up your BlogEngage tutorials at the moment I’m having trouble getting signed up. Did my request in the forum, got approved, got a invite email, followed the link and it says request an invite in the forum…. ummm circular logic isnt working for me today! LOL

Personally, I think it takes too long to get around on BloggerLuv. John himself says it’s not a social site, so I want to get in, do what I gotta do and get out. That’s why I’m working on a little sump’n sump’n to simplify things for me and anyone else who wants to have time to network, work on our primary jobs and eat

I’m having a ton of fun with BloggerLuv, and yeah, I don’t think it’s possible to emphasize enough how much help it is just knowing one or two or more people are willing to help you with your blog if you just ask.
For me, the biggest help of BloggerLuv is that sense of security, that I’m not alone working on my blog and its promotion.

I really enjoy BloggerLuv, it does need to grow some, BE and BloggerLuv networks are too small. We need to get some more hundreds of bloggers involved and joining! Seriously how can people be using crusty stuff like BlogEngage which provides little benefit to the small bloggers?

Thanks for the great post, I saw BloggerLuv before when I was searching for good blogs but I really didn’t take the time to look around and see whats happening in there, I thought it was just another popular blog.
I went to register at BloggerLuv after reading this article and I have to say its pretty impressive, there’s so many features, as soon as I registered, it displayed my name and a link to my profile on the Home page right away hehe, was pretty cool.
I’m a newbie and I just recently started learning about blogging.
