Great tips!
I have everything deindexed in that yoast page except the category archives. But maybe I should look into the tags. But that would mean I would have a lot of cleaning up to do for my sites as I have many tags that overlap eachother.

Archive pages have little value but as time passes they do get valued if the content is good enough. What do you think ?

Tags, I have used but the placement of tags somehow I feel is important.

Author pages is one of the neglected part on my site but I always that it will only pop up on google if one enters an Authors name.

Most articles on SEO are pretty much the same. Your input was different… Suggesting that you optimize the lesser pages makes all the sense in the world. Most people who do SEO do not know how big of a job it is for search engines to rank blogs. There are dozens, if not hundreds vying for every worthy keyword combination. Therefore, any advantage that can inch us forward could make all the difference.

I remember a few years ago there was a lot of talk about optimizing error pages which I think is a good idea. Like you say, it’s not critical to do these things, but they could possibly give you a bit of an edge.

Hi Ming,

It does take a long time. You may also need to check that your author page is searchable by the search engines. That screwed me for ages :S
