Part of the reason why people don’t succeed is because they don’t do the keyword research up front and they try to target high competition keywords right off the bat. Pick up a keyword research product like long tail pro and that should help.

Blogging does offer some earning opportunity but you should not go over the top by adding scores of ads on the above the fold section as it might invite penalty. And do not focus solely on earning, you need to have passion for blogging otherwise, it will wear you out soon.
That is also important but should be taken later on as it matters when you required a place in your clients heart. And that can be done only when you have a established or new business.
“Never-Say-Die attitude”, love that!, because this is what you truly need in order to survive online, you won’t be able to produce money out of thin air, you have to spend the time and effort to actually make this work, and as you said we have great examples of that in history. It’s sad that some people think that making money online is impossible or too good to be true.

From my point of view, it would be ideal to complement an offline business with an online blog. Nevertheless, the newbies should remember that managing a blog can be more difficult that running a regular business, and earning a regular stream of money takes time.
It all depend on the thought and experience of person doing the work. It doesn’t matter it’s an online business or an offline business people should be creative towards their work and that’s the thing matters in this field of business a lot.

When I first started out online, I didn’t have any money to pay for hosting and I didn’t have a job that could help me to do so. But I started on a free server and built my way up, earning money and moved to a paid hosting and bought domains for myself.

I think that it is vital that if you are starting a new business you start with something that you enjoy, don’t chase the money following trends as you will fail in 90%+ of the times. Doing something that you love will make you products/servide so much better in the long run.
I’d not suggest people to go against their will they should only choose the business they are comfortable in doing it. Else should not go with the choice.

Of course you need to invest your time and as we know time is money, it will certainly take longer without money but it something that can be done…
I got few friends, they are attracted to the money I earn online but never seems to be promising. They just wanna do what I do online and thus take them down. One can’t go with other’s choice they should have find their inner talent in order to achieve something quickly.
Making money from blogging usually takes good amount of time,so you can try a bit to get some passive income but to make real money you need to invest in blogging too

Hi Chris–I have to STRONGLY agree with Irfan here. You could start by writing for other blogs as a paid staff writer–I’ve been doing it for a couple of years. You don’t need any money to do this, and the money you earn can cover the few small expenses for your own blog.
In this way you can start making money right away, and if you can make a little, it will build your confidence that you can make a lot more. The internet is very different from bricks-and-mortar businesses, and even from a lot of service businesses.
Hi Irfan–outstanding point about a “never say die” attitude, that’s the “secret formula” if there is one. If you resolve that you will make your online venture work, it will (“you can if you think you can”). You’ll get past any obstacles you’ll face if you just don’t quit. I’ve found that out with my blog and with my freelance blog writing. You’ll make money if you don’t quit.
On free information sources, you can also check out videos on Youtube. All you need to do is enter “how to (what ever)” and you’ll find information. One word of warning on free info though, it can be good for specific topics and issues, but no one will give you their real secrets for free. Usually they’ll give some free info to whett your appetite, but you’ll have to pay for the core stuff. It’s never a bad idea to pay for a good tutorial program then use the free stuff to supplement. This is especially true if you’re completely new to running an online business.

I have been following this article. Some people say you need money to start a business. With this type of online business, you need basics such as domain name, hosting, themes etc. Cost are minimal compared to conventional business where physical goods are required such as stocks, store, people etc. In the virtual world, money required is low. But you definitely need perseverance and hard world.

I would say I’ve only invest about 20 dollars total in hosting and domains and have returned 4x that money in a month. This is from starting at a blank page on a new domain.
