3 Ways to Monetize Differently and See More Results ~ Guaranteed!

Everyone with an active blog can make money but some people make more money than others. As a matter of fact, traffic plays a big role in how much money you make from your blog. To an extent, the way you do the things you do can also play on how much you make.

Without any increase in traffic, you can do some things differently and see more results. I want to share with you (from my practical experience) a few things you should do differently to see different results. I'm not going to reinvent the wheels.

I'm simply going to show you how to pick up some of the things that have been done for ages, add a little touch to it and see more results.

A – Monetizing with Google Adsense differently!3 Ways to Monetize Differently and See More Results

Everyone monetizing with Ad Networks knows that Google Adsense is the master. It's quite simple to signup to the network, grab some ad code and paste on your site to hope for some clicks and earnings.

We've heard and read a lot about optimizing Google Adsense for more Click Through Rates and better pay per click. Quite frankly, if you've been online and blogging for a couple of months, chances are high that you've read some materials on Google Adsense.

Google Adsense is not without alternatives. There are hundreds of different ad networks out there and most of them are trust worthy. But the problem is combining these different networks on a single property can be a real tough task. Here are difficult questions we are often faced with;

  1. Where to place which ad code ?
  2. Which size to use ?
  3. Which colors to use ?
  4. Text links or image ads ?
  5. Etc

-> Google Adsense with performance improvement apps

Now, you ain't going to have need to improve traffic flow though that's quite a big necessity. With performance improvement apps, you are going to have an ‘intelligent machine' test ads from different networks and get the best for your site.

All you do is set it up on your site and focus on other areas of your business. This will automatically test your ad code location, size, colors and adjust for the best.

Currently, I'm running Ezoic, a Google Certified Publishing Partner on my blog and even wrote about it on my blog here. They have partnered with more than 100 other premium ad companies such as Outbrain, OpenX, Tabools, Criteo, Media.NET, Infolinks and more. These ad companies all compete for your inventory automatically and that leads to more earnings.

Are you also using Ezoic? Please drop a comment below and let's hear about your experience.

This is absolutely using Google Adsense differently because you don't get to handle all the testings yourself. Besides, you don't just rely on Google Adsense. The app will, after testing different areas start showing the best ads in terms of relevance and earnings for you.

B – Monetizing with Affiliate Marketing differently!

Affiliate marketing happens to be one of the quickest ways to monetize your blog. But as business becomes so competitive, Affiliate Marketing is becoming more and more difficult.

Traditional methods no longer generate encouraging results. There is therefore need to apply different techniques in order to get more results.

In my book Affiliate Marketing For Bloggers, I went into exciting details how bloggers (and how I) make money with affiliate marketing. But here is something you should do differently and I promise, you will see more results because it's scientific.

1 – First, grab a copy of the product you want to promote (Either by buying or getting free copy)

The best way to promote a product is to use it. Promoting from practical knowledge positions you for more conversion and income

2 –  Secondly, show your readers how the product works for you.

People like things that work. If you've built a community of loyal readers, let them see exactly how what you are promoting is helping you out. If you show them tangible ways and proofs you are getting results from the item you promote, conversion will shoot through the roof.

3 – Teach your readers how to use that same item

Now, this is where you nail it! I want you to know that most of your readers like what you are doing and they want to be able to do as you do. If you help them get your knowledge, you will get them to buy what you use and you earn the commission.

Here is what to do;

  • Create a tutorial section on your blog dedicated to promoting the product.
  • Publish many different posts showing how to use different areas of the product.
  • Optimize your tutorial posts for search engines.
  • Create other posts comparing that product with other competing products.

This absolutely works, my friend! If you've done affiliate marketing with no results, don't quit. Follow these 3 steps and you will soon start seeing results.

Bonus tip: Be sure to No-follow your affiliate links! What does that mean? Ms. Ileane explains it in this video and shows How to Add the Nofollow Tag

C – Monetize with banner ads differently!

One of the ways to make money from your blog is to sell banner space but bloggers get often so frustrated with this. They try several times to get approved by services like BuySellAds  but keep failing.

They are not able to get advertisers to buy space on their sidebars. In some cases, they make some drops of earnings (like $10 per month). That isn't bad but where are you going with that?

What about getting paid $500 per banner and no one ever gets to see the banner on your sidebar? Looks different right?

Here is what to do;

  • Identify the most popular blog post on your blog. It should be the article getting the most traffic from search engines. You can do this using Google Adsense or Google Search Console.
  • Now, once you've gotten your most active blog post, get the statistics (Number of clicks from Google, impressions, keywords driving traffic to it, bounce rate and average time on site)
  • Then search for a product that's relevant to the content of that post. The best way to get this is using platforms like BuySellAds. The reason is that this is where you find advertisers who are ready to spend.
  • On BuySellAds, go to the marketplace and search for properties in the same category or categories related to the topic you treated on that popular blog post.
  • Visit those sites than show up in your search results. On must of these sites, you are going to find ads placed by BuySellAds. What you simply do is contact those advertisers who have bought space on these sites.
  • Make sure you share with them the stats of your popular post.

Why this works?

Advertisers will always rush for such an offer. The reason is that they are being exposed to super-targeted natural traffic. At the end of it, you will be selling space on your popular post and making more money that what you get from sidebar.

So those are some 3 ways I think you can monetize differently and generate more results from your blogs. Let me know what you thin in the comment box below

  3. Hi Enstine,
    Glad to read your post.
It is important that you have a Website for your product, if you are running a business or trade. It helps you to promote and expand your business. Now most of business uses Online Marketing to promote their Brand.
Now people don’t directly go for shopping they do lot of research about product before buying it. So having a website for your product helps clearing their doubt and Establish your product.
Now customer just does not go on for features and specification of the product, they look on the reviews of users. Attaching good reviews with your product will help in more business.
For me your business will be successful if you are able to build a sense of trust and healthy relationship with the customer.
Thanks for sharing wonderful tips with us,

    with regards,
    Saurav

    1. Hi Saurav,
That’s right! People don’t just buy online these days. They try to find out what others are saying about the products/services before making a buying decision.

Genuine reviews will help any business grow and creating a business blog is a huge step forward.

I appreciate you adding your voice to this conversation Saurav.

      Do have a wonderful day

  4. Definitely love this guide, haven’t heard about buysellads for a long time and definitely haven’t tried it before.

      do have a wonderful weekend

  5. Your tips are appreciated, Enstine as a way to learn monetizing methods that are successful for another entrepreneur. I often wonder if referring to one’s website as a blog versus an online site matters for clearly communicating to visitors the purpose of your site.
Although I’m still nervous about investing excessive amounts of time and dollars into maximizing Google Absence, I’ve made a mental note about your suggestion to also research and test this marketing method with a performance improving add, i.e Ezoic.
Your suggestion to test out each product before promoting them as an affiliate product is critical. You want to relate a product to your listeners’ similar experiences. Let them know how their life would also improve by using the product or how they’d continue having a certain problem.
Pairing a banner ad for a product with a related blog post is an interesting idea. I’d be curious to survey or talk with my readers about their impression with this option.
    ~Keri

    1. Hi Keri,
Thanks for making such a detailed comment

I think a blog should be called a blog. That’s being more specific and clear. If you tell me this is your blog and I come to find out it’s a flat site or some ecom short, I’ll feel lost and misled 😉

You know the one way ahead is test. Everything that was established was once tested. Testing different options helps us see which one produces the best results.

I’ll be interested in knowing the result of your survey Keri.

Is there any way you are going to keep me informed?

  11. Darrell Harris

    Hey Enstine
Great post It was very insightful and very helpful. As you know traffic plays a huge role you can have the best offer in internet history without sufficient traffic its useless. That’s what I’m focusing on now. I really love that strategy of making money with BuySellAds, I will definitely implement that one soon. I really love reading your post because seems like I come away with a nugget or two all the time. Again thanks for this value packed post in Ms.Ileane’s neighborhood.

  12. Hey Enstine,

Google AdSense is one of the most popular methods for monetizing websites, and despite what we may have heard, it can still be an excellent way to support our content production efforts. In order to get the best results, it’s important to try different advertisement strategies. AdSense really offers multiple ad formats from which website publishers can choose. There is a large range of widely used ad formats, such as skyscrapers, leaderboards and rectangles.

These banner formats feature both text ads and graphical ads. Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular ways to make money from our website or blog. Eventually, thanks for sharing your additional information regarding this subject.

    With best regards,

    Amar kumar
