For those of you familiar with MailChimp, the editing works on the same principle. Just click the boxes you want to edit, and a word processor comes up.

This is just a basic example of how I modified an Infographic into a pictorial representation of an experts’ interview I conducted.

You have added abilities at Piktograph of uploading your own photo and changing font size and backgrounds and more. You can add icons and shapes as well.

2. Canva

For people without artistry, creativity, or a budget, Canva is for you.

  • Go to Canva.com and create an account. Canva lets you log in with your username and password to various forms of social media just as Piktochart does.
  • Choose your project, you'll see the option for Infographics.

Look at the screenshot. Your “canvas” is to the right. Your choices are to the left.

How To Use Canva Canvas

Canva allows you to upload your own photos, put in a background and text, and modify premade templates and more. Canva is my “go to” site for graphics, and I have never spent a cent there.

This is an example of an Infographic I made with Canva. It was easy to modify. Although I didn’t choose to upload my own photos for the Infographic, you would have that option.Tips To Format Your Blog That You Will Love [Infographic]

By the way, the Pinterest crowd loves to share Infographics. This was frequently shared on pinners’ boards, and, in doing so, gave more exposure to my site.

3. Easel.ly

If you are artistic, or remember your days in school, artists paint on an easel. Enter Easel.ly. If the name sounds like “easy,” that’s okay too, since it is so simple. Like Piktochart and Canva, it is free.

  • Go to Easel.ly.com and make an account. Like with the other sites, you can use your other social media accounts to sign in.
  • Pick a Vheme. It stands for Visual Theme. Easel.ly offers fifteen free templates for you to easily customize.
  • Modify as desired. Like with Piktochart and Canva, you can edit, change font colors and styles, add symbols and text, and upload photos.

This is an example of an Infographic I made using Easel.ly. Notice the title, Easel.ly is Easy.

  1. Hi Janice,

I completely agree with you. A well detailed and great looking infographic goes a long way than a 1000 word article. The visual aspect of an infographic is much stronger than words. It gets the attention of your readers very quickly.

An infographic has the potential to get you more traffic than normal articles. Thanks for sharing these valuable tips.

    1. Hi Brian,
      Nice to meet you.
There is a movie called “Words and Pictures.” While I haven’t seen it, I hear it discusses these very concepts–which is more valuable–words or pictures. With infographics, you get both which makes them that much more valuable than just words alone or graphics alone.
Thank you for your interest in my article.
      Janice

  2. Great stuff Janice, a big fan of Canva and infographics. When I get the time, I have also used them to great effect. sometimes even thousands of shares on Pinterest, so I can attest to your methods! and great to see you here on Ileane’s Blog :>

    1. Hi Ashley,
Nice to see you here too. Thank you again for your help with my February interview. It received the highest page views of any post I’ve written.
As far as infographics, there are many choices, and all free, as I mentioned.
Before selecting Canva, Piktochart or Easel.ly, I get a vision in my head of what I want the infographic to look like, and then I choose whichever site has a template that will best fit that vision.
Thank you so much for writing and your interest in my post.
      Janice

  3. Hi Janice

I just saw mind valley do a interview with Neil Patel and he talked about how he has generated millions of visitors using infographics.

I also remember him saying that he would spend $600 per infographic it kinda put me off cause I don’t have that type of money to spend on a infographic.

So I was presently suprised to find your article on how I can do it my self or have someone on the team do it for a fraction of the cost.

This is a really timely and highly useful article thanks for sharing

    1. Hi Mark,
Thank you so much for writing and your nice comments.
The examples I shared from a variety of sites showed you can have professional-looking graphics for free. It is a shame people spend money on them. Perhaps once upon a time before these sites came out, it was necessary. At any rate, I am glad I could help.
      Nice meeting you.
      Janice

  4. Hi Janice,

You had me at hoard, LOL!

    People love eye candy.

You did a fab job explaining how to serve up that eye candy to a ravenous audience.

I’ve not done an IG yet but am due for one on Blogging from Paradise.

    Thanks for sharing Janice!

    Tweeting from Bali.

    Ryan

    1. Dear Ryan,
Thank you so much for taking the time to tweet from Bali to compliment my article.
I am a huge fan of yours, so your kind words mean a great deal.
I find infographics are easy and even fun to make since my creativity comes out while I am making them. Enjoy Bali, good luck with your infograph, and thank you again.
      Janice

  5. Hi Janice,

Thank you so much for the awesome resources you have shared here. Infographics have often seemed time consuming but I am going to try them out. I will admit I do love to visit other website with the infographics. Thanks for getting me thinking.

    Irish

    1. Hi Irish,
Nice to meet you. Thank you for your interest in my article.
I have never found making infographics to be very time-consuming. I actually think it’s comparable to the time it takes to make a “shareable” graphic. Perhaps it doesn’t feel time-consuming because I find them so much fun to make.
You should definitely try making them. If you have any questions about them, here is where you can find me at Reflections where I blog: http://wp.me/P5jxvv-1
Thank you again for your interest and your comments.

  6. Hi Janice,

Thanks for the useful tips on creating Infographics and also making your site more visually appealing.

    Cheers,
    Cent

    1. Hi Cent,
      Nice to meet you.
Thank you for your interest in what I wrote.
I was just noticing over the weekend that my infographics really do get shared on Pinterest far more than my other graphics. This, of course, increases potential for your content’s visibility.
I find the interest from Ms. Ileane’s community exciting.
      Thank you for your comments.
      Janice

    1. Dear Martin,
Thank you so much for your interest in what I wrote.
In the time that I have been making infographics, I find that the pinners on Pinterest share them more than any other site I have encountered.
I looked at my Google Analytics recently and found readers had found me on search engines through my use of infographics as an image tag.
I had not heard of effectiveness with them on Stumble Upon. Have you heard that?
Thank you again for your comments.
      Janice

      1. Janice: I asked the question due the fact that in one of the infograhipcs included in this post (mycurrentnewsblog.com) is saying that StumbleUpon is much more popular than Twitter.

        1. Dear Martin,
Now I understand. In 2012 Ken from coolinfographics did a study. His study unearthed the following finding: An infographic about Green Moss was shared on StumbleUpon more than any other infographic.
          Janice

  7. Pritam Nagrale

I always like Infographics they are so effective one. Thanks for sharing this resources I have tried Piktochart it is really easy to make infographic using templates.

    1. Dear Pritam,
Nice to meet you. Thank you for your interest in what I wrote.
I agree with the ease of Piktochart. However, each site’s free template choices are limited, so it is good to be able to access a variety of infographic sites. I have tutorials for how to use others where I blog at Reflections. If interested, here is the link.http://wp.me/P5jxvv-1.
      Thank you for your comments.
      Janice

  8. Piktochart is by far my favourite tool for creating Infographics. Many neat templates, tons of grpahics and photos to choose from, slots for uploading your images, and now they have a blog too!

    1. Dear Kostas,
      Hi,
Nice to meet you. Thank you for commenting on my article. Of the three I mentioned, Canva, Easel.ly, and Piktochart. Although I like, and use, all three, I have the least familiarity with Piktochart since I’ve used the others longer. I will check out Piktochart’s blog. Thank you for letting me know about it.
      Janice

        1. Thank you for the kind words about my blog. I actually just streamlined the look and made it more contemporary.
Since I’m interested in growing my readership, I thought I should look less like a travel blogger =).
If you’d like to see the new look, here is a link to my About Me page on my site http://wp.me/P5jxvv-1.
          Janice

          1. I like the simplicity and the colors! Good job. By the way, I’m writing a round up post about negativity on Social Media. I would be happy if you wish to contribute.

  9. Hi Janice,
Thanks for introducing with these awesome tools to create infographics. Currently I’m Using Canva, it’s really user friendly and lots of free materials available to create a professional infogarphic.

    1. I’m glad. Since I put the yellow infographic on Ms. Ileane’s blog, which came from Canva, it has been shared on Pinterest frequently.
Thank you for reading what I wrote and your interest in Canva. If you are ever interested in branching out and exploring the other options that are solely for making infographics, I have many tutorials about additional choices and other information about them at my site. Here is the link http://wp.me/P5jxvv-1.
I realize there is an expression, “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.” I hear that Canva is working for you. However, you might eventually run out of free template choices, and then all your infographics will look the same.
Thank you for writing. Nice to meet you.
      Janice

  10. Hi Janice

I just wanted to say Thanks for pointing me in the direction of tools that assist with the creation of Infographics.
I have read a number of times now how they boost interaction but was struggling to find the tools to try this out.
Have decided to start with Canva, now all I have to do is come up with some content.

    Thanks again

    Tony

    1. Hi Tony,
Thank you for writing and your interest in my article.
Usually people have the content first, and then make the infographic. If I’m understanding you, you have the tool to make the infographic but need the content.I find the reversal amusing.
Thank you for letting me know you find the idea of using Canva valuable. Nice to meet you.
      Janice

  11. Hi Janice,

You have listed some of the fastest and easiest ways to create infographics. Thanks for posting this info. I also think infographics have become a more powerful combination of text and images in delivering the right mix of information to the audience.

Very useful post that provides to-the-point information!

Thanks for sharing. Have a good day!

    1. Hi Nisha,
      Nice to meet you.
Thank you for the interest in infographics and the kind words about my post.
I agree with what you wrote about infographics. That combination is the reason they have become so popular to incorporate and receive so many social shares.
      Thank you for writing.
      Janice

      1. Yes exactly Janice. Infographic is the thing that we can share in multiple sites and increase our visibility.

Thanks a ton again for the awesome piece.

  12. Good post. I am currently making some infographics using both Canva and Piktochart. I seen how effective they have been for Neil Patel. Now, if I could only get the same kind of traffic he does.

  13. Has anybody had any joy in hiring artists from fiverr to do info-graphics? I have seen a few guys on there that do some pretty nice ones.I might give canva a try until i can find a good artist to make some costume ones for me. Thanks for the points Janice.

  14. Your post has become much important for blog owners. but the question raises that how these infographers are important more then social activities. These will help to generate graphical traffic or over all???

    1. Hi,
Thank you for your compliment on my post. Calling it “important” is quite flattering.
In regards to your question, all I can do is echo the statistics which show that content accompanied by infographics gets shared more and therefore brings more traffic to your site.
I read an article just today that gave an additional reason besides what was already in my post. The writer observed that not everyone speaks the same language, but they will all understand the picture.
Thanks for your interest and your kind words once again.
      Janice

  15. Hi, janice
Great post, I took me few minutes but I read whole. Want to ask one thing let say you post a info graphic and provide visitors it’s html code to share on their blog.
    Q 1 – who will profit more.
Q 2 – what if a low da site published that info graphic. It will hurt your rank (in case)

    Regards, Devendra

    1. Hi Davendra,
Thank you for reading my article. In order to answer your question, I got you a link from a post at my site. http://wp.me/p5jxvv-Iq
If you look at the post, which was about the use of Google AdWords, you will see an absolutely beautiful, professional-looking infographic by Pulpmedia Online Marketing.
They gave the code to their infographic for free. In exchange, they are getting links back to their site which helps, not hinders, SEO, and of course, free advertising.
Thank you for your interest in my article.
      Janice

  16. Thanks Janice! I’ve been using infographics for my clients quite regularly and this resource helps get things done in a more efficient manner. Very helpful! 🙂

    1. Hi Tima,
Thanks so much for the kind words about my post. I’m glad you have found it helpful for your clients.
Thank you for writing. Nice to meet you.
      Janice

  17. I’ve been making infographic in Adobe photoshop and illustrator. I’ve been trying to find something online that is user-friendly. basically i’ve tried Piktochart. It was great, but almost all the online software have limited capability on graphics. I guess I have to stick to the traditional way of making infographics

    1. Hi,
While I agree with the limited capabilities of the sites I have shared, I believe they offer premium options. By paying for the premium membership, I believe the options are greater.
Thanks for reading what I wrote and writing.
      Janice

  18. Shayna Baker

I haven’t tried any infographics yet but i will sure do it, I think infographics are very useful to increase your social presence and probably can be helpful to increase traffic for my blog 🙂

    1. Hi Shayna,
Nice to meet you. Thank you for reading what I wrote and your interest in the topic. Blogger Neil Patel has received so much traffic from his use of infographics, they really “sell” themselves as far as appeal. Even if I didn’t know about his success with them, I see first-hand how they continue to outperform my other graphics on Pinterest.
      Thank you for writing.
      Janice

  19. Hi, Janice. I came to visit you here after reading your post on guest blogging. Thanks for the recommendation, it was a good read. I enjoy Ms. Illeane’s blog. I came across her back in 2013 while I was on Audioboo. I listened to her podcasts back in the day.

Anyhow, I’ve made 2 infographics. The first was made in Canva and the second was made using a PowerPoint + PicMonkey tutorial from BonnieGean.com. Canva was the easiest.

    1. Hi Sara,
Exciting to see you here! Thank you for following me over to Ms. Ileane’s blog. I am not familiar with BonneGean.com. I am familiar with Canva and have made many infographics using Canva. I enjoy PicMonkey but have not made an infographic using PicMonkey. Thanks for writing!
      Janice

  20. I think Infogram is better than these tools. Currently, am using Canva and infogram. Infographic is the great way to express what you want to tell visitors but at the end. But if you use too many infographics then you’ll get less session duration. What you think about it, at the end we want visitors to stay longer on our blog.

  21. As truly said, “A picture is worth more than 1000 words.” In the present situations, a picture is the best way to share and organize your blog content. You can handle chart, Information, and text collectively to build an Infographic. Infographics are pretty successful on social sites & users like it as it conveys the information in a simple to understand the topic quickly.

Thank you very much for sharing this article. I was looking for Infographic tools and reached this post. These tools encouraged the person like me to create my first infographic. You well described in regards to Infographic and reveal why it is important for websites and especially I think best for business blogs. I have observed how infographics increase social shares and targeted traffic to blog posts. But until today I have not created an infographic. After reading this page I also think that I should work on infographics. I was just looking for some tool to promote my blog pages on online platforms. Moreover, various bloggers might use your Infographic in their articles, and you will get backlinks. These are much-required tools for any blogger, thank you for your ideas about infographics.

  22. One of my current goals is creating good relevant inforgraphics for my blog. I’ve created one so far that I’m pleased with called the 4 key steps to success in a new fitness regimen. I’m a learn by doing kinda guy so I’m going to keep working on it! I’ve also heard Pinterest is a good place to go to promote your infographics but I suppose that is niche dependent.
