Accepted as a Beta Tester for CommentLuv Premium

Since the first day Andy Bailey hinted that he was working on the release of CommentLuv Premium, I've literally been dying to get my hand on it. Well not exactly dying but you get the idea. As you can imagine I was quite pleased when I got the email announcing that I was approved as a beta tester for CommentLuv Premium.

What's in CommentLuv Premium

Bloggers who purchase this plugin (it's not for sale yet, but it will be soon) get 6 plugins in one. Watch this video as Andy describes how this one plugin will eliminate the need for 5 other popular WordPress plugins on top of a few additional perks.

Get six-plugins-in-one with CommentLuv Premium

  1. CommentLuv
  2. GASP – GrowMap Anti-Spambot Plugin the Akismet alternative
  3. Twitter Link Comments – gives commenters a link to their Twitter account next to their comment
  4. KeywordLuv (Andy's updated version is called Keyword Name)
  5. DoFollow – with the flexibility to switch back and forth to NoFollow as you wish!
  6. TrackBack validation

Most people would have been happy with the six-in-one deal, but Andy took things even further by adding “social enticements” for Twitter, Facebook and even a Google +1 button. He also set up a forum so we can report problems and give him feedback or make suggestions. More details about the specific settings for CommentLuv Premium are demonstrated in this follow-up video from Andy.

CommentLuv Premium puts a click tracking widget in your dashboard

CommentLuv Premium Click Tracking

Another new feature allows you to see how many times those links you leave on other blog comments are clicked. This will give you insights as to what post titles are attracting the most attention when you get CommentLuv from other blogs. In the image above you can see I got a click already from a comment I left over on Blog Engage (gotta love that place).

If you're ready to see it in action, go ahead and leave a comment, and give this post a Tweet, a Like or a +1 and get a choice to access to your last 10 posts to link to from CommentLuv Premium.

    Hey Lleane,

I have always loved this plugin and have been using it ever since Andy brought out the first version.

I was straight onto this when Andy sent me an email. Funny thing was I had just landed home back from holiday and it was the first email I read so was a nice surprise.

Do you know when Andy is delivering the premium plugin or if there is only a select few that he is giving out. As there has been loads of interest to become beta testers

    Craig

    1. Hi Craig, Andy hasn’t set a firm date for the actual release of CommentLuv Premium and I don’t blame him. I’m sure it all depends what we beta-testers ask him to adjust and how long it takes for him to do so. I would guess that it will be soon though. I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop. 🙂
Thanks for coming by Craig. We’re getting to know each other pretty well these last 24 hours.

      1. Craig Sowerby

        Yeah we are!

Just trying to be a better blogger and networking with some of the higher rated bloggers on the net!

Whooop Whoooop just got approval and diving in now with all the settings. So should be up and running fairly soon

        Craig

  4. Commentluv premium seems very interesting because of those 6 additional features it has. Must say that Andy Bailey has come up with unique features.

  5. 6 in 1 –what a HOT offer. I am not going to MISS it anyhow.

Thanks a lot for this real GOOD news.

  6. Glad to know you got the chance to have first hand on it. You deserve it.

I’m too waiting anxiously to have this plugin once it is live.

    1. Suresh, you know I wanted to be a beta-tester really bad, so thanks for saying that. So far I think it’s great!

  7. H Iliane,

I got my beta invite just now as well #w00t and am just as psyched as you #lol
Awesome to read that you are also among the 8 beta testers.

    Cheers,
    Jakolien

  8. With all these features, I am sure that the premium version is going to seel like hot potatoes. Thank you for the information, Ileane!

    And Congrats on getting accepted!

    1. Hi Jeevan, I agree. Andy will have no problem selling the premium version of CommentLuv. Thanks for your comment.

  9. Congratulations Ileane!

I’ve just watched the video again here on your site and I’m wishing for a miracle that I can get to try it on my blog as well.

    1. Adeline, Andy is making videos in his sleep at this point. I can’t even get a chance to watch all of them because everyone is stopping by to check out CommentLuv in action. Oh, I guess I’ll take a break soon to catch up and make sure I’m not missing one little thing. LOL

  10. Hi Ileane,

I had to pop in and see the new baby 🙂
It’s adorable, especially the little plus on its chin. Like a dimple. LOL

Ok, enough silliness. Have fun testing and reporting!

    Cheers,

    Mitch

    P.S. Rats! I didn’t see ten posts…is there a two-comment minimum for that, too?

    1. Hi Mitch, are you saying that you added the +1 and still didn’t see get the 10 posts? Let me know so I can put in a report. I’m using a different account now and I did get the ten post list after I added the +1

Thanks for checking it out 🙂

      1. Ileane, it is there, now. Note the different link I chose.

Conclusion: either or both requirements had not been met with the previous post comment – 1. The 2 approved comments; 2. The Twitter Love waits until the tweet is accepted

Actually, I hadn’t paid too much attention the first time, so I may be way off-base.

I have to find another beta site where I’ve never commented before and try it out. then I’ll come back and clarify.

        Cheers,

        Mitch

        1. Mitch, after a little chat I had with Mitz from WordPress Website Builder, I decided to change some of my settings on the plugin. I can give you more details after I’ve checked with Andy to find out if there was a bug or if I just picked the wrong options. 🙂
          Thanks for the feedback.

  11. Great information exposed here Ileane! Great pack for Com Luv Premium offering all these plugins! I wish more bloggers though didn’t remove com luv from their comments area!

    Thanks for sharing,
    John Mak

    1. Hi John, with the new features in CommentLuv premium, I have a suspicion that more users will be putting it back and getting rid of third party commenting systems like Disqus and Livefyre. That’s just my prediction, but we shall see 🙂

  12. Hi Ileane,

Its great to hear that you’ve chosen to be one of the commentluv plugin beta testers. Congrats to you and I can’t wait to see your review on this new premium plugin.

    1. Hi Jenny – here’s my review now – I LUV IT!
Just kidding Jenny, I do LUV it but I’ll do a proper review once the beta-testing is over. Thanks.

  13. Thanks Ileane, This is going to be a great tool to consolidate all those plugins into one plugin. Any idea what the cost is going to be?

    1. Hi Danny! So good to see you 🙂
I don’t want to speculate on the price because I don’t know if Andy will offer lifetime updates or if it will be sold on an annual subscription basis. Knowing Andy, CommentLuv Premium will be available for individuals blogs and developers too – but I’m just guessing (sounds right though doesn’t it?).

  14. This is the first time I ever tried to use keywords and this is an excellent opportunity to start so there they are! Congrats Ilene on being one of the first to use ComLuv Premium! I am excited for the new plugin and I cannot wait to install on my site as well!

    1. Hi Aidy, those keywords look good on you 🙂
Be sure to follow me on Twitter and watch the announcements and updates about CommentLuv Premium. I have two accounts @Ileane and @BasicBlogTips.
      Chat soon Aidy.

  15. excited about the premium, the original plug in was great this should be fantastic! great way of blogging

    1. Wong, I know that Andy is rolling out the invites a little at a time. He doesn’t want to be inundated with all of our feedback at once. We beta-testers just got an email from him and at the end he said he was going to go take nap. Poor thing – I know that feeling because I could use one myself but I have more comments to respond to. Hopefully you’ll hear from him soon. Best wishes.

  16. Congratulations on becoming a beta tester, Ileane. The premium plugin looks great, and I can say that I am a bit jealous :).

    1. Paul, that’s funny.
Now you know how I feel when I visit the Website Babble Forum and see your name up top 🙂 But it’s more like admiration that we share for each other and we learn so much from one another as well. Thanks for your comment Paul and you can get some CommentLuv here any time you want!

    1. Hi Abhi! Great to have you stop by and comment. What does Congo mean – I hope it’s a good thing. Thank you.

  17. Congrats on the Beta Luv! The premium version looks GREAT. Any word on when it will be available for general use?

    1. Tracy, CommentLuv Premium will be available once the beta-testing is complete. Be sure to follow me on Twitter for the updates @Ileane and @BasicBlogTips.

  18. Hey there Ileane congratulations, the premium version sound brilliant, I put in to be a beta tester but sadly, didn’t get to be one 😉

    1. Have patience Karen! I bet you’ll be in the next round of beta-testers Andy approves. If I find out when that’s going to happen I’ll send you a tweet. Andy keeps us informed via email whenever something new is on the horizon. Thanks for the visit and all of your support on Blog Engage, Twitter and Facebook. Chat soon!

  19. Wow, Ileane! This sounds awesome. I haven’t been paying much attention to CommentLuv lately. I wish I could get all these features on Blogger. I use the CommentLuv plugin for IntenseDebate, which is cool, but I think it’s a pretty old version, and doesn’t come with some of the features the WP users get.

    1. Sarah, I mentioned to Andy about CommentLuv on Blogger with Intense Debate and he doesn’t have any plans to update that one. In fact, I might as well tell you the news ahead of time that once the server he’s running it on now goes down, CommentLuv might not be available on Blogger anymore. The good thing is that might be quite some time because there’s not a lot of new users signing up since he doesn’t mention it on his blog anymore.
The only way people find out about CommentLuv on Blogger is if they come here or a handful of other blogs who have mentioned it in the past.
Sarah, I know you love Blogger I keep up my Blogger blog too, but have you ever considered migrating to WordPress or starting a brand new WordPress blog? I bet you’d be quite successful and make loads of cash creating awesome premium WordPress themes!

      1. Hey Ileane! Wow, really? I love the CommentLuv plugin and I would be sad to see it go.

I can’t deny that going to WordPress has crossed my mind before, and even making templates for it. But I think it would be extremely difficult, because I love Blogger for it’s simplicity and ease of customization, not that WP doesn’t have that. Also, I don’t know a thing about PHP, but I suppose I could learn.

On the other hand, it has a lot of nice features, and someday I may set a blog up with the WP platform. But right now, although my blog has been around for over a year, I feel like I’m just getting started. I’m not sure what I want to do with my blog, so I’m going to see where my blog takes me over the next several months, and decide where go from there.

        1. Well whatever you decide, just keep blogging! We need your positive spirit and your energy in the blogosphere 🙂

  20. Congrats on getting to try the Beta. It’s my fav plug-in and I’ll be standing in line for the premium version when it comes out. 🙂

    1. Hi Melissa,
I’m picturing you know, knocking on Andy’s door yelling “Let me in!” 🙂
Hopefully, CommentLuv premium will be ready this week (fingers crossed). Thanks for your comment Melissa.

  21. Congrats on being a beta tester. It sure is a great plugin. I love the social enticement part as well. If people want more posts to show up all they have to do is tweet or share on Facebook. A win win for both parties.

  22. Ive been waiting on this since Andy first announced his intentions. I especially LIKE the facebook incentives part 🙂

What are the site requirements for being accepted as a beta tester along with the release date as well as its initial price ❓

    1. Hi Will, I can’t answer any of those questions intelligently, but I don’t think he is letting any more beta-testers in after Tuesday (but remember that might be Monday for you). Good luck!

  23. Congratulations on becoming a beta tester, Ileane. The premium plugin looks cool and Andy will announcing who gets chosen the week!

  24. Congratulations for being a beta tester Ileane! I envy you and I think everybody else do. I love the cool features they are prsenting with commentluv premium. They are very promising and I just love to try it too.

    1. Hi John, you will appreciate the flexibility of this plugin and the social enticements for Twitter, Facebook and Google + 1 rock! Thanks for your comment EJ.

  25. Ileane thanks for sharing it and congratulations to you for being a beta tester. I hope that the new features will be far better and people will really love to have premium membership.

  26. Ileane,

6 plugins in one, that’s a good deal. I will apply for beta testing right now! Congratulations to you Ileane! 🙂

    Saksham

    1. Woot! I’m using the keyword module too. However, I decided not to display the details about how and when it’s used. This way I can change my mind about what keywords I’ll allow whenever I want. Of course you, my dear Ana, have a free pass on getting KeywordLuv all the time 🙂

  27. Wow I have been thinking about using commentluv for a little while now. The click tracking just won me over, that is an insanely helpful feature. Hopefully, I’ll get in the beta.

    1. Ben, it certainly is an eye opener. I thought my comments were being clicked a lot more than they actually are. 🙁
But on the other hand, I’m seeing that giving myself CommentLuv here on Basic Blog Tips is getting more clicks than anywhere else. Maybe I just need to get around more though. I’ve been spending most of my time here responding to comments every since I installed CommentLuv Premium. I’ll definitely post something about this in a few weeks.
      Thanks for coming by!

  28. Hi Ileane. Thanks for sharing this video. It is an amazing plugin for WordPress blogs and will take

spammers down and stop them from promoting their sites.

  29. Thanks for this great information. Yes, I totally agree that this could be a successful premium plugin. Would love to be a premium tester. We (bloggers) will benefit from using this plugin. So, Goodluck!

  30. Hi Ileane,

This is a great plugin. Now, it is even better as it combine several useful plugins together with its built in viral nature (or incentive nature) to promote the blog further 🙂

    Good stuff,
    Ming

    1. Hi Ming,

Andy calls them “social enticements” and I kinda like that terminology. One thing I haven’t mentioned here in the comments much, is the trackback validation that comes along with this version of GASP! Because of it, I got rid of two plugins – GASP and Simple TrackBack Validation. That in itself is a two-fer!
So I actually got rid of 7 plugins not 6 (just realized that).

  31. Hi Ileane,

I’ve been meaning to ask about the social enticements in the new beta version. I’m currently using the register option in CommentLuv to entice more subscribers to my blog. I’m curious if that option is still available in the beta version you’re testing? All I’ve been reading about is the social networks (which is fine by me).

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Adeline, yes the register option is available in CommentLuv premium. Personally, I don’t use it because I prefer the social enticements.

  32. Hi Adeline, You should check out my latest post where I go into more details about this. I don’t like the idea of registrations, so this option is perfect for me. Thanks for your comments!

  33. Congrats on being 1 of the 8 lucky beta testers 🙂 . Saw the video 2 times and have to say , this is Awesome ! Pretty interesting . Cannot wait to check out the premium version myself !

  34. Hey Ajinka, I hope you saw my tweet that CommentLuv premium is on sale now. Hurry you only have a few days left before you can get it. After that you’ll have to wait another month.

  35. The plugin is awesome especially now that I see more and more blogs using it, I can really appreciate it.

I wish I can be a beta tester of anything. 🙂

  36. The 6 features included makes CommentLuv very interesting. CommentLuve seriously is climbing greater heights very quickly. Too good for bloggers like me! Thank you.
