  5. Hi Ileane, this is T3CK, aka now Slik, I found out about this new site via twitter I am really looking forward to reading the tips provided on this site… 🙂

    1. Hey there, how are you? I’m looking forward to spreading the word about what a great platform WordPress.com is and hopefully I can call on you if I get stuck for an answer! Thanks for the visit.

  6. Hi Ileane,
Love the new blog…it’s a good fit for newbies like me. It looks good too…so clear. am I allowed to ask a question on this blog?

      1. China blew me away! I would go back to Beijing and Shanghai at the drop of a hat. I won’t dwell on it here, but I saw the all the “touristy” must sees like the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors, Tianamen Square, the Forbidden City and so much more. For sure, the Chinese people were curious because they had never seen someone that looks like me, but I didn’t experience anything mean or hostile…just a lot of curiousity…which I kinda like. I hope to do more international travel soon. I’m all about Eat, Pray, Love!!! Back to business… my question today is tips on incorporating, recordkeeping for taxes and possible write offs, and changing from my employer’s assigned email account. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

        1. Deanie814, I’m on the lookout for some resources to help you with those financial tips. Stay tuned. Thanks.

        2. Hi Deanie,

Ileane asked me to drop by and answer your questions. I’m assuming you’re asking for your blog.

For incorporating, you can search on my blog http://www.moneyandrisk.com/resources/small-biz-tools/
for the requirements in your state and area to incorporate. It’s the licenses and permits tab.

Go to your state’s website for the Secretary of State section. That’s where all the paperwork and info about incorporating is at.

I broke out all the government resources here for small business owners.

Recordkeeping, you can use Quickbooks or create an excel spreadsheet. Keep all receipts.

Changing from employer’s email. You can either create a gmail account or your own email on your blog domain. I have my own email domain and use Google to access it for all the staff. You can have up to 50 for free.

If you have more questions, just shoot me a quick question on my site, Money and Risk, via the quick question tab.

          1. Hi Kim!
You and Ileane have gone so far “above and beyond” my most hopeful expectations that I’m humbled. Before I make a total gushing fool of myself, please let it suffice for me to say that I appreciate this information so much. I definitely will visit your site and follow up on all of the resources you shared. I didn’t have a clue that such a supportive community existed…count me in! Thank you Kim!
